Congratulations to Azariah Rainwater on becoming a 4th place state medalist at 215 lbs. Azariah showed pure toughness this postseason by bumping up from 190 to 215lbs. In the opening round, he beat the #2 seed from the west 7-1 then lost a 1-0 heartbreaker in the semifinals to the eventual champion. Azariah showed a lot of heart and never stopped wrestling even when things didn’t go his way… in the consi semis, he won a 4-1 thriller in OT to solidify placement! Azariah lost 8-0 in the medal match. Congrats Azariah! We are proud of you!

Also, in the consi semis, Reyon Williams, Uriah Delonia, and Contrell Richardson all lost heartbreakers in the final seconds to close out their seasons. It was a very tough ending to a really strong year. A single match never defines us… we learn from it… We will be back and we will be stronger & we will be better!!
