I call it the W’s, I wish, wonder and want. What is ironic about this revolves around one main W – Weight. The endless battle we all go through! I struggled for years up and down with weight and emotions. Till one day I made a commitment to Fit Miss- Sophie Vezina. The passion she has can be best described as contagious!!! I am not good at putting my thoughts into words; if you ever got texts from me you know this already! The best way I can describe my life changing commitments are by Ones: one day at a time, one meal at a time, one workout at a time and one person believing in me and saying “ You can do this Penelope” ( you have to hear this in a beautiful French accent). We joke that I will have to fly out of the nest one day, but not just yet!! I cannot imagine life without your guidance.

Abies' Story!

What's makes Abies’ story unique is that she started to workout with me while pregnant and did so until 2 weeks prior to her delivery!
Only six weeks after giving birth to a beautiful, healthy little boy, she was back to working out again.
She is now healthier, more toned and looking even slimmer than before her pregnancy! Managing a professional career and a new non-profit organisation (Brunch & Pray) while caring for a newborn baby and finding the balance to find the time for yourself is very difficult, but Abies has proved that it is achievable!

I am so proud of you Abies, and I hope you are as well! You continue to prove that you can achieve whatever you want when you push yourself, work hard and stay disciplined and positive! You are an inspiration for mothers to be, new mothers, grand-mothers or any women out there!

Penelope's Transformation Story...

This is not just another before and after picture... this is a beautiful and inspirational story.

I met Penelope for the first time in the trails while mountain biking. We exchanged only a few words but I could not forget her as she striked me as a jovial and beautiful women. She is the kind of women that you want to be friends with, and, of course, with a French name like this, how could I forget her!! Several months later she contacted me with a lot of curiosity and wanted to try something different. She was concerned about her eating habits and wanted to lose some inches. She mentioned that she tried many strategies to get to her objectives but was having difficulty achieving the results she was looking for. Despite the fact that she was already very active - mountain biking, running; an outdoor enthusiast - she wanted to see more results in her physique and her mind. On May 25th she started her journey.

When I say that this is by far the most determined and focused women I have ever met, it is not an understatement - she has never let me down. She recorded every single day of eating, followed each homework assignment I gave her to do on days off, and when I was asking for 100% she always gave 150%!!! She changed her eating patterns and started to cook more, bringing her healthy meals to work and realizing in just a few months how different she felt and how much more energy she had. She is now convinced that the scale is not as important as you would believe it is, as she can now see the results in her clothes. When you look at her you see that she is lean, muscular, several size smaller and stronger than ever!

I believe that every individual you meet in life is there for a reason, and during a time that I was losing my self-motivation, this beautiful and spirited women came in my life and got me fired up again with her determination and enthusiasm. She reminded me of the reason I became a personal trainer and a fitness nutritionist - to see the appreciation of newly defined muscles and the joy of disappearing inches. The strength she was gaining made me realized how much of a difference she made in my life. Penelope challenged me to find different ways to train her and different techniques to make it fun as well as challenging. I always look forward to seeing her show up with her bright smile and unbeatable enthusiasm. Her positivity, generosity and work ethic is inspiring, and she is always ready to give me everything she has, even when working several jobs during the holidays, with little free time for herself and as exhausted as I know she is, she always pushed me to push her further!!! You are a beautiful women, inside and out.

Debbie's Training Story...

Debbie Volf’s inspirational story began when we had the idea of mutually exchanging our expertise: I requested Debbie's talent as editor for my upcoming cookbook and she asked for my help in introducing her to weight training, and eventually running. Debbie never considered herself an athlete, and never really developed an interest for working out in a gym, so I promised her that I would make working out fun and less intimidating – seeing as how I can offer 1-on-1 training in a personal gym.

Debbie started her journey on July 27th, 2015 and embarked on this new adventure with an unimaginable amount of passion! You have to give credit to Debbie: her commitment to 3 times per week of resistance, high intensity, interval training, on top of 2 running sessions, is more than many can handle! To her surprise, the pounds didn't show a significant decrease on the scale, but she dropped several sizes in her clothes, and inches in her waist and hips! Her body started to transform and became leaner and more muscular, and she is now having fun working out. The more Debbie is seeing results, the more motivated she is to train harder. As she was transforming my cookbook, I was helping her transform her image.

Debbie is one of the most persistent and perspicacious women I have ever met, and it shows in the way that she writes and in the way that she trains – her determination is inspirational! A few adjustments to her diet made a good impact on her physique and the way she feels; she is now more energetic and has so much more endurance. Debbie’s personality made it so easy for me to give her advice on nutrition - I didn't have to repeat anything twice, she was applying everything I suggested, and it showed almost immediately in her figure and through her energy level.

Everyone knows that it is not easy to change your lifestyle, particularly in your 50s, to take up new challenges, nor to become athletic when you thought you were more inclined to be intellectual. Debbie transformed herself in not even 5 months! (I mean, look at those guns!!!)

This is another success story, it is Debbie's story, and it is not over yet as it has now become a lifestyle for this beautiful women. Exercising has empowered her, given her confidence, and provided her the wellbeing to keep going. Debbie now looks more refreshed, and is more beautiful inside and out than ever.

I have to say, though, that this success story is bittersweet, as Debbie is now leaving Mississippi and moving back home to Canada. Sadly, I will no longer have the chance to train her weekly. I will really miss you, Debbie, and your strong beautiful mind; I am so proud of you, and I want to thank you for your professional talents in helping me conceptualize my cookbook. Your trust in me was humbling, and I want to thank you for giving me the chance to share my passion for nutrition and exercise with you. As you like to say, "Everything happens for a reason", and this has been exemplified in the imprints we have left on each other. Safe travels back to Canada, and I cannot wait to see your books on the shelves of Barns and Nobles!

Karen's Transformation Story...

This beautiful woman has been in my life and studio for almost TWO YEARS and I cannot wait to share her story! Everyone has uniqueness and this beautiful woman is truly one of a kind!

Karen's objectives were similar to those of many women in theirs 50s - she wanted to feel younger and have more energy. She wanted to GO, but her body didn't want to FOLLOW. We started to meet 3 times a week and worked really hard! I introduced her to some specific training that would get her in the mood for working out: isometric, plyometric, weight lifting, HIIT, circuit training, and even running! She confessed that she never considered herself athletic and that if someone would have told her that, in the future, she would be running 5Ks, lifting weights on a regular basis and enjoying it, she would have laughed at them!

I would like to announce that she is now training to run her very first Half-Marathon and I know that she will do great! She's probably not happy with me right now for publicizing her commitment down, but it is ok, I believe in her!

It is an absolute pleasure to have spent several hours with her every week for the past 2 years and, truly, if I could train her for 3 hours, to which I’m sure she would say, “Thank you but NO thank you!”, I would, just because it is so rewarding for me to see her surpass her limits and see what she can achieve! Look at those pictures! As I've posted many times, "a picture is worth a thousand words". It is not only her physique that is different, it is the light in the eyes that sometimes makes the biggest difference! Karen is definitely slimmer, firmer, more defined, and younger looking, but what I see now when I train her is, what the French call, her "Joie de vivre"!

My mission again was simple: Make working out fun, enjoyable enough to become a lifestyle, in order to have incredible results physically and mentally! Look at Karen, she is beautiful, assertive, and more determined than ever.

I am the one who is saying "thank you", you have been a blessing in my life, you have so many times been my "lab rat” for new routine that I created and wasn't sure about. You have been my taste tester with recipes, and you have been an inspiration for so many women - you even trusted me with training your beautiful daughter Aubrey. I am proud of you and hope that you are calling yourself "athletic" and a "runner" now because everyone else is! Bravo!
