Majors City Championship is in the books. Congrats to Turlock American Little Leagues Yankees for taking the title this season. Congrats also goes out to our own Dodgers who kept fighting last night and had an amazing regular season. Proud of you all.

Vote for SOFTBALL coach of the year. Help us nominate Gabe Gaitan as a softball coach of the year. Gabe has 4 kids in our league ranging from tee ball to majors baseball Brewers to AA softball Force, and majors softball Volts. He is the do it all dad. There’s nothing he doesn’t offer to help with and is there for all 4 of his kids as well as many other kids on a regular basis. You may know him from baseball but we are asking to help nominate him as the SOFTBALL coach of the year. Only takes two minutes to complete the form. ALL STAR ANNOUNCEMENTS COMING SOON. calls to those that made all stars will happen this week. We understand this can be a fun and exciting time for those who make a team and a hard and disappointing time for those that don’t. If you have questions you can always ask us but we cannot tell you why your specific player doesn’t make a team. We can tell you the process… all 6 majors managers sit in a room with a few league officials and all 6 nominate players from the entire league - not just their team. A pool of players is created and then the managers vote electronically to select the top 12 from that pool. The top 9 or 10 vote getters automatically make the team and the final 2-3 spots are selected by a conversation by the managers based on voting and performance/attitude during the season. Alternates are also selected in case of injury but not notified unless there is a need to use them on a team. Any questions or concerns can be sent to 209-202-3315.
Majors softball playoffs start tonight at Denair High. Thanks to Team Spark for singing the National Anthem before the game. Play ball!!
There have been approximately 740 triple plays in Major League Baseball (MLB) history since 1876. Aka they are rare which makes them a unique part of baseball culture. Tonight at Soderquist the Majors Cubs executed one. Line drive caught by Lane Roton at Shortstop (1st out). Lane throws a bullet to first base where Alonzo Vasquez tags first to get a runner out who didn’t tag up (second out). Alonzo then thinks there’s 3 outs and spikes the ball into the dirt to celebrate a great double play when he realizes it was only two outs, grabs the ball and fires to catcher Josh Avila who tags the runner trying to score from third - triple play. No matter what side you’re on sometimes you just have to cheer for good baseball. Enjoy the video but come out and watch these two teams (Nationals and Cubs) battle again in the playoffs. Amazing baseball on both sides tonight.
