🥍 KNOW YOUR COACHES: COACH DAN HANSON 🥍
We’re excited to continue our “Know Your Coaches” series and introduce you to another coach who brings years of experience, passion, and a genuine love for helping young athletes succeed.
Meet Coach Dan Hanson! 🐶🥍
Now retired and residing in South Paris, Maine, Dan has been coaching since 2001 and brings nearly 25 years of coaching experience to the Yard Dawgz family.
Over the years, Dan has coached athletes in:
🥍 Lacrosse
⚽ Soccer
🏀 Basketball
His coaching experience spans club programs, high school, middle school, and youth leagues, giving him a unique perspective on developing athletes at every stage of their journey.
Dan’s coaching philosophy centers around three things:
💪 Effort
🤝 Leadership & Sportsmanship
📈 Skill Growth
Dan grew up playing both soccer and lacrosse, eventually focusing on lacrosse during college and later playing club lacrosse. After beginning a career in law enforcement in 1999, coaching became a positive outlet from a career that could often be difficult and stressful.
While Dan still enjoys getting out on the lacrosse field himself, these days, his greatest joy comes from watching the players he coaches succeed—both on and off the field.
When he’s not coaching or playing lacrosse, Dan enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, and hunting.
We’re excited to have Coach Dan bringing his experience, leadership, and passion for player development to Yard Dawgz Lacrosse Club!
Welcome to the Dawg Pound, Coach Dan! 🐶🔥🥍

Meet Coach Zach Stewart! 🐶🥍
Lacrosse has been a lifelong passion for Zach, and he continues to play the game he loves every week. For the past 27 years, Zach has dedicated himself to coaching and giving back to the lacrosse community, working with athletes at nearly every level.

🥍 Kennebec Cannons
🥍 Maranacook/Winthrop Boys Lacrosse
🏆 Back-to-Back State Champion Maranacook/Winthrop Girls Lacrosse

With nearly three decades of coaching experience and a lifelong love for lacrosse, Coach Zach brings knowledge, passion, and a commitment to helping every player reach their potential.

This week on "Know Your Coaches" we are highlighting Coach Kyle Youland!

Coach Kyle will be leading the 3/4 boys clinics and assisting with the 5/6 boys clinics.

Kyle lives in Turner with his wife and two children. A lifelong athlete, Kyle grew up playing football and baseball and competing in ski racing. His introduction to lacrosse came through his son, Kole, who wasn’t interested in baseball or track. What started as a way to find the right sport for his son quickly became a passion for the entire Youland family.

Kyle has spent the past six years coaching youth sports, including football and lacrosse. He believes strongly in the positive impact youth athletics can have on a child’s development, teaching valuable lessons about responsibility, perseverance, teamwork, and confidence that extend far beyond the field.

As a lacrosse coach, Kyle emphasizes strong fundamentals, consistent effort, teamwork, and a commitment to improvement. He believes that while everyone wants to win, success comes from being willing to put in the work to get there. His goal is to help every player understand that when you work hard, invest the time, support your teammates, and continue to learn, the possibilities are endless.
Kyle is passionate about growing the game of lacrosse and, most importantly, giving every child the opportunity to discover the same joy and passion that his family has found in the sport.

Please help us welcome Coach Kyle!
