We received this letter from an out of state donor to be shared with our program graduates. It's a touching reminder that it takes a village to support each other as we grow on our journey. Our quilting village extends far and wide, with some people in the background and contributing just as much as those who are at the forefront.

CCQ instructor Diane Leveton snapped this pic of staff members at Emanuel Hospital when she delivered a stack of quilts made by students in our prison quilting program. The hospital gives comfort quilts to critically ill patients who are in particular need of extra tender loving care.
CCQ also donates quilts to Good Samaritan and Meridian Park Hospitals and to a variety of programs that support people in need of comfort.
Each student in our program makes three quilts. The first two are for donation; students keep their third quilts.

This year I'm using the Quilter's Planner to stay organized. I've always used a paper planner so this is not new for me but apparently a whole new generation has just discovered paper planners instead of using apps. I think that's great and my planners have always kept me organized. I thought I might give some tips for using your planners. One thing I do is use different colored pens. I use Pilot G-2 pens which come in most colors. You can use a different color for each area of your life or just mix them up so that your calendar looks like a rainbow. Also, don't forget about pencils. Anything I think I might have to change or edit gets written in pencil. I've seen it suggested to use Sharpies which I don't suggest because of their thickness. Unless you use the ultra fine points which are pricey. Also, sharpies tend to bleed through on paper so be careful if that is your pen choice.

Hello all my crafty friends! I have a sewing machine for sale. It is the Brother SE-400 Sewing and Embroidery Machine. It comes with a 4x4 hoop and an embroidery arm. It has logged very few hours. I played a bit with the embroidery feature and made and quilted about 2 quilts on it. I'm asking $250 as it comes with it's own table and specialty cut acrylic insert so that it sits at the correct height. The table and insert were purchased separately from the machine. This would be a great gift for the beginner sewist or someone interested in embroidery who doesn't want to pay thousands of dollars for a machine just to try the feature.
You can see all the features in this Amazon listing: http://www.amazon.com/Brother-SE400-Combination-Computerized-Embroidery/dp/B003AVMZA4
