This is typically when we set big, unrealistic goals for ourself out of PURE desperation. Goals like going from “never getting up before 8 am,” to, “working out at 5 am 5 days a week”... we’ve all been there.
There’s nothing wrong with setting big goals, but when we expect to jump from where we are to where we want to be overnight, we set ourselves up for failure.
What if instead of setting a goal to go from A to Z in the QUICKEST way possible, you set a goal to go from A to Z in the most efficient, SUSTAINABLE way possible?

PHEW 😅 The last few weeks have been filled with an INSANE amount of happiness, sadness, joy, frustration, hope, excitement, and overwhelm🎢
I’ve gotta say: it’s not always easy to ride the waves, ESPECIALLY when it feels like they’re tossing you in every direction BUT the one you want to go in.
Right now, I’m reminding myself that the highs and lows are a natural part of life. I’m reminding myself to trust the process of life, and have faith in a plan bigger than my own.
A blip on the radar isn’t there to throw you off course. It’s not there to knock you down and keep you there, or to “prove" that you’re undeserving of what you want. The challenges and blips are there to help you learn, grow, and become even stronger.
So, for anyone else who needs to hear it today: YOU’VE GOT THIS!

Let go of the SHAME! Let go of the GUILT! Let go of the urge to compare yourself to where you were last month, last year, or pre-COVID. Not only does that suck all the fun out of the experience, it also breeds MORE shame, and MORE guilt, which leads to MORE unhealthy choices.
If you're gonna do it, do it without the fear that it will ruin your diet, ruin your progress, or upset your boss. Go ALL IN with your decisions, and most importantly, ENJOY them!

I can't even count the number of times I've felt like I didn't deserve to feel good about myself because of the way I looked, dressed, talked, acted, or performed.
I feel like I could write a ZILLION books about how the messages we hear as kids impact the self image we create, but for now, just remember this: it doesn't matter what you look like, where you live, how your last Performance Eval went, or how much money you have in the bank. You deserve to feel good about yourself right here, right now, EXACTLY as you are. Period.

Last night we had a *healthier* summer cocktails class as part of my program!
I don’t believe it’s necessary for most people to cut out alcohol to live a healthy lifestyle, but I DO believe there are healthier ways to enjoy alcohol 🍹
One of those ways is to cut back on the pre-made mixes, and make your own drinks at home!
Last night we made a vodka gingerade, raspberry mint mojito, and a strawberry mint daiquiri, and the daiquiri was by FAR my favorite (which really isn’t fair to the other drinks because if it’s summer, and the weather’s nice, daiquiris always win). It was simple, delicious 😍, and the perfect treat for a hot summer day ☀️ Get the recipe below!
Ingredients
Serves 2 (technically)
🏝 1/2 cup rum
🏝 3 cups frozen strawberries
🏝 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
🏝 1/2 cup mint simple syrup (1/2 cup filtered water + 1/4 cup monk fruit sweetener or 2 tbsp honey + 1 mint tea bag)
🏝 Fresh strawberries, lime slices, and mint leaves for garnish
Directions
1. Make your simple syrup by combining the water and monk fruit sweetener or honey in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until the sweetener has dissolved.
2. Bring the mixture to a boil. Then remove from the heat, and add the mint tea bag. Allow the mint tea to steep for 5-10 minutes.
3. When the simple syrup is ready, add the strawberries, rum, lime juice, and simple syrup to a blender, and blend until smooth.
4. Divide into glasses, and garnish with fresh strawberries, lime slices, mint leaves, and little umbrellas if you’ve got them.
5. Put on your sunscreen🧴, head to the nearest pool or beach 🏖, and enjoy!
It’s SO easy to make swaps in this recipe, so feel free to swap the rum for vodka, the strawberries for raspberries, or ditch the alcohol altogether. It’s your drink, so you do you!
⚠️ NEW WORKOUT ALERT ⚠️ This one was a DEFINITE mind-body challenge. Sometimes when I'm leading a workout, I momentarily lose my s**t, and have NO IDEA what my body is doing 😂 😭 but that's one of the reasons I love cardio kickboxing so much!
No matter how many times I do it, I always feel physically and mentally stronger when I'm done. Sure, I might feel like a noodle brain 🧠 at certain points throughout the workout, but it's all part of the process (I guess...).

Pictures from our trip to the last week with Chris’s family!☀️
We went to the beach exactly one time (well, two times if you count stopping by the ocean before we drove home), spent a TON of time in and around the pool and hot tub, and made friends with the cutest little green frogs that lived in the hot tub cover 🥰
These frogs were the BRIGHTEST green 💚 you’ve ever seen, and they were FEARLESS! They would literally hop right up to your hand as you rested on the edge of the hot tub, and hangout right next to you! I saw one of them p**p 💩 one day, and I felt like I was on discovery channel 😂
We had a mix of clouds ⛅️ and sun ☀️ , and it was SO COOL watching the storms form over the water. The picture of the rainstorm is my absolute FAVORITE (Chris’s aunt got that shot).
The Outer Banks are gorgeous 😍 and until we left, we didn’t realize just how much there was to explore nearby: shops, restaurants, dunes (I think the largest on the east coast??) and MILES of beaches 🏝We had so much fun, and can’t wait to go back!! Where are you traveling this summer?

Pineapple Banana Green Smoothie
Ingredients
•1.5 cups filtered water
•2 handfuls chopped romaine 🥬
•1/2 cup diced pineapple 🍍
•1 small Persian cucumber 🥒
•1/2 small banana 🍌
•1/8 of an avocado 🥑
•Squeeze of fresh lemon juice 🍋
Directions
Add to a blender cup, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Blueberry Quinoa Salad
Ingredients
•2 handfuls chopped romaine 🥬
•1/4 cup fresh blueberries 🫐
•1/4 cup warm quinoa (I cooked mine in the , and it was so easy: 1 cup quinoa, 2 cups water, salt + pepper, pressure cook on high for 1 minute)
•2 tsps olive oil + 2 tsps balsamic vinegar
•Sprinkle of black pepper
•Vegan feta (I used my favorite from )
Directions
Add to a bowl, mix, and enjoy!

Chocolate Almond Butter Rice Cake
Ingredients
•Plain rice cake
•1 Tbsp almond butter
•1 Tbsp dairy free dark chocolate chips (used my favorite from )🍫
•Sprinkle of unsweetened shredded coconut 🥥
•Fresh strawberries, washed and quartered 🍓
Directions
Spread the almond butter on the rice cake. Add the chocolate chips and shredded coconut. Serve with fresh strawberries!

I heard that quote last year on a podcast interview with , and it was one of those quotes that INSTANTLY stuck with me.
Since we started working together, Elizabeth has stayed COMMITTED to her goals.
She’s shown up for workouts when:
➡️ Her workout buddies cancelled
➡️ Last minute meeting changes forced her to reschedule her workouts
➡️ She only had 20-30 minutes to workout in between the kids’ activities
➡️ She was home with the kids, and had to stop every 7-10 minutes to make sure they each had what they needed (and that no one was eating too many snacks 🧃🍿🍫)
➡️ She couldn’t see the results yet
➡️ She felt hopeless, defeated, and like the number on the scale would NEVER move
THAT 👏🏽 IS 👏🏽 COMMITMENT 👏🏽
In the last 2 months, Elizabeth has dropped 15 pounds 🥳 but when I asked her how she felt, it wasn’t just the weight loss that she was excited about.
She said: "I’m so excited to keep it up! It’s not just because of the weight loss, but because I can literally feel how much stronger I’ve gotten.” 💪🏽👏🏽🥳
The road to your goal isn’t always smooth.

Eating Low Carb ≠ Eating For Weight Loss
