As I get to know and work with each client to find out their individual goals, that sometimes comes with challenges that aren’t solved by the “typical” protocols. When you are following the protocol tailored to you, and you’re NOT seeing progress, it may call for something more. At times I will recommend you see your doctor for a blood panel, or hormone check to see if we are working with some unknown factors. Information is key! Once we have data to work with, I can further work within those challenges And you working with your doctor to fix those problems, will help you move forward to your goals. If we don’t address underlying issues, no amount of exercise and nutrition tweaking will get you where you want to be. Magic happens when we combine consistency to protocol (diet and exercise) and knowledge of your individual needs.

With that being said, you also need to stay consistent and stick to what I have for you with nutrition especially. Assuming it's something underlying before we try everything with nutrition and exercise is not recommended either.

Let’s talk Macros! Nutrition isn’t just a matter of “cutting calories”. Macronutrients or, “Macros” simply categorize the type of foods that make up our diets. Rather than just counting or cutting calories, we are identifying what is actually IN our food and putting those sources to work in a way that helps us achieve the specific goals we have. It isn’t always just “losing weight” or “getting fit”. Tailoring your macros to your goals effectively helps you achieve optimal results.

Strength training at its best! Anai has gone DOWN a whole pant size, while at the same time building a lot of muscle- including gaining a little weight- this is why the scale isn’t the best measure of fitness! Definition coming through! Anai followed a very structured muscle building training program, focusing on progressive overload. Training this way helped her build enough muscle to improve her resting metabolic rate. Allowing her to burn more calories while at rest, and helped her lean out without the heavy cardio/low calorie lifestyle. Great job Anai!

Our client has been in her Reverse diet process for a little over 25 weeks. By following the Reverse diet cycle, she has been able to increase her food intake, and help retrain her body to effectively build muscle and burn fat at a higher caloric rate after years of being conditioned to only lose fat with extreme calorie cutting. To do this she had to gain weight at a healthy pace, but clearly it didn’t change how she looked! In fact, she she dropped several inches during the process and she gained muscle. She’s a perfect example of this process. And look at they smile! Great work!

What’s the typical thing when someone decides they want to lose some weight? Reduce calories and start exercising, right?The initial weight loss is exciting and you keep going. After a while it seems like it's impossible to drop any more weight .. so what next?

Time to implement a reverse diet. A reverse diet is simple. It is slowly adding more food back to your diet in order to refeed your body. During this period, we prioritize weightlifting and increase calories to the point of maintenance. You do this for a while so that your body can get a reset.
