An overview of some of the things we did to help Enji relieve her right hip pain.
We did some ankle, knee and hip joint warm up.
Then we did some squat to see how it feels today. Her squat is shifting to her left a bit.
We also did some hip proprioception, ankle proprioception (she had sprained her right ankle multiple time). She also did the standing pigeon stretch to open her hip. Then she did the squat again and it was a lot straight.
The glute med (side butt) and core is a very important part at stabilizing her hip so she practice d those.
We finished with L5/S1 ELDOA which is used to create space in her hip and low back.

Remember to breath. Stress shifts our breathing into a shallow, fast chest/shoulder breathing.
Biologically, this is designed to help us take in more oxygen when we perceive threat, such as being chase by a tiger.
However, that does not happen often in modern day. Once the breathing is shifted. Our body stays in the survival state.
In the survival state, we can only access our survival brain.
Within our survival brain, we can only see and think options limited to what can keep us alive. One of the most powerful way to reduce breathing stress is to teach the body how to breath through the stomach using the diaphragm muscle.
Every breath we take into our belly sends the signal to our brain that we are safe, we can relax. Overtime, this naturally reduces the tension in our whole body, especially the neck and shoulders because the neck and shoulders are the secondary breathing muscles that gets activated by stress.

Why is it so hard to lose weight?
Personally, I believe it is because there are stuck emotions in the body.
Emotions are energy in motion. When they don't move through the body, they become stuck in the body.
This shows up as "I don't feel like...."
It shows up as a huge resistance between what needs to be done and what is actually happening.
How to process emotions?
Step 1: Learn to breathe with your body.
Step 2: Breathe with the emotions you feel in your body.
Step 3: Ask "how old do I feel right now" and breathe with your inner child.
Common emotions that are trapped in our bodies are anger, sadness, guilt, shame, grief, to name a few.
For example, I didn't consider myself an angry person until I hired a coach that helped me realize how much anger I had built up within me.
I couldn't express my anger because I believed it would make me unlikable and hinder my survival (our ego's main goal). Suppressing my anger also suppressed my passion.
Once I connected with my inner child and processed my anger, I could pursue my true desires. Losing weight is just one example; stuck emotions can hinder any aspect of our lives.
Now, I encourage my clients to practice what I teach daily through the six principles of thinking, breathing, nutrition, hydration, sleep, and movement.
