I will not be attending any births in July 2027. We have quite an exciting summer planned, and building rest/recovery time in to my schedule is so important.

If you’re planning a home birth with WWM-be mindful of these blackout dates. Also keep in mind-the weeks surrounding July to adjust for a pregnancy that could go late or early.

Thank you all for your support and understanding when this midwife needs some down time.

Just a midwife trying to survive an office day after an overnight birth.

Thankfully it was a smooth sailing, beautiful birth for a first time mama

WWM & midwife Jordan welcomed 4 sweet babes earth side in August.

A second time mama who powered so peacefully through labor. Working so well with her body. Leaning in to her contractions & surrendering everything over as she welcomed her second sweet baby girl in to the world.

A second time mom who had such a quick and beautiful labor. This mama went in to labor rather unexpectedly as we both thought she would be pregnant several more days/weeks. When labor started it was so so quick. From the time she called me to the time she was holding her baby was less than 30 minutes. A sweet baby girl came earth side and joined her brother.

A third time mama who we knew was going to have a very swift labor, but we had no idea just how quick it would be! We were all on our toes in anticipation for this sweet babies arrival. In less than TEN contractions sweet baby boy was in his mamas arms-our birth team arriving just 2 minutes after he was born. This was a sweet repeat family for us & we all sat around and talked about no matter how prepared we can be, God always has His own plans.

A second time mama. A sweet repeat client who had her first baby at home with us about 2 years ago. This mama was a powerhouse! She started labor and it quickly progressed to intense contractions. We had suspicions that her baby was malpositioned in the pelvis-making her labor a little longer and more intense than we expected. She worked so so well with her body, supported by her family & birth team. When baby did come-our suspicions were confirmed as baby was posterior and asynclitic. So proud of this mama for pushing through & birthing her baby in such a peaceful yet strong way.

What a beautiful month it was. A month of rest/recovery, while still welcoming so perfect babies. September is shaping up to very possibly being our busiest month yet. We are entering this month with faithfulness & expectations of many blessings to come. We are ready for you September.

Today consisted of 2 home visits to check on some brand new babes & their strong mamas🥹🫶🏻

Everyone had wonderful checkups. Mamas are healing and adjusting. Babes are thriving & nursing like champs.

I love these immediately postpartum visits. Talking through the birth with the family. Checking in on mamas both physically and mentally. Doing weights, cardiac screens & newborn assessments. Being in this new space with families as they are expanding and adjusting.

As always, it’s just an honor to be in these moments

Reflecting this morning on two very beautiful births.

On Tuesday we welcomed a sweet baby boy after the most rapid labor I have ever witnessed. In less than 10 contractions this sweet mama was holding her baby boy.

Yesterday a sweet mama worked so so hard through her second labor. She was the picture of strength as she worked to get her baby girl earth side. When baby came, much to my suspicion, we realized she was in a position that was harder to birth. Explaining her labor pattern and difficulty pushing baby out, but nonetheless she did it.

Both of these moms were repeat mamas & what an honor it is to be invited in to this space for a second time.

This was my reminder that birth is birth. It’s beautiful and it’s unpredictable. Each birth changes me as a person & as a midwife. It brings me so much joy to be in this space while also teaching me trust, surrender and patience.

While this can be a tiring “job”, each and every one of these moments truly fills my cup. I’m just so thankful to be here

Even though our clinic doors aren’t quite open yet, you don’t have to wait for opening day to have Kindred care for your new baby. We are currently offering our in-home newborn visit packages and would love to have everything arranged before your little one arrives.

If you’re expecting soon, please call or text us so we can make sure we have you on our schedule around your delivery. We want those first days home to feel a little easier, a little calmer, and a lot more supported. 🤍
