Elite Basketball began in 2014 when two basketball dads, one of us a former player and one of us a coach, came together to create more opportunities for our then 7-year-old sons as well as the young kids in our community to have more options to play basketball. In the more than eight years we have grown from one AAU team to over eight AAU teams competing in year-round tournaments all over the Northeast. We have ran seasonal basketball leagues for several years and even managed to continue our program throughout the pandemic to keep kids active. We have had countless memorable times, tons of fun and have met some truly amazing people along the way over the years but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. The past two years have been a time of ups and downs as a society and has changed the focus of so many people, us included. While we have enjoyed the time we have spent with our players and families over the years it has become clear that we need to shift our focus to our families. We could not have been so successful over the years without the coaches and volunteers in our program, they have been instrumental in helping us to achieve what we have had over the years. While we love the sport and coaching kids, the amount of time and dedication needed to run and manage a successful AAU program has become more demanding. It has been increasingly difficult to find balance in our lives, between our full-time jobs, our own children's activities and being present and involved in Elite Basketball. We will both always be available to any of our former players or families should they ever need anything in the future and I'm sure we will still be spending plenty of time in the gym so this isn’t goodbye but see you on the court or in the stands. Thank you all so much for the memories and support, we truly could not have done it without all of you.

One of our former players needs some prayers 🙏

Recently Michael McPike was seriously injured. Please pray for his recovery and for God to grant strength to his mother Mary and to his siblings. During this trying time the family can use some assistance. Meals and/or gift cards, for food, gas and necessities would be helpful, there is a Panera at the hospital. Those who might like to contribute financially can do so through Mary’s Venmo account, Mary-McPike. If possible please portion out meals so Mary and her other kids can share. Items can be dropped off to Tina Mignone or to the McPike home. Please feel free to share this message and anything you can do for this family to help is greatly appreciated.
