We need scrap metal!! If you happen to have nuts, bolts, washers, old silverware, old wrenches or hand tools… We would love to take them off your hands. We are looking for fun, creative welding fabrication projects for our Ag Mechanics classes. Thank you!!

We’ve been busy! Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend!

From welding a base back together to prepping the fields for today’s baseball and softball games, these kids get it done. 

Today we had 10 FFA members compete in various competitions at the Northwest FFA Regional Rally! We are so proud of everyone for representing Avery FFA well!

Employability Skills: 4th place
Tool ID: 11th place
Floriculture: 4th Place
Creed: 7th place

Our Forestry team was recognized for getting 3rd place earlier this year along with our Hunter Safety team who placed 2nd in the region!

Busy days before SPRING BREAK! Thank you Mr. Bill Hoffman and Avery County Cooperative Extension for always providing great opportunities for our students!

We had a great weekend at the YHEST District 8 Hunter Safety competition and in Greensboro at the FFA MEGA conference.

Taking the Ag Mechanics pathway at Avery is an opportunity to use your hands with woodworking, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and welding. We would love to help you start your FFA journey!! The opportunities are endless!

We’ve just got one thing to say… normalize going to trade school.

Not everyone needs a four year degree to build a successful life. Electricians, welders, carpenters, mechanics, and plumbers keep this country running. These are real skills, real work, and real opportunity.

Trade school isn’t the backup plan. It’s the backbone 🔧🪚⚙️🔨🧱
