RePosted • No barbell. 🏋🏼‍♀️ No problem. A heavy load (weight) is not required for everyone’s goals, nor should you lift extremely heavy every day. Working on correcting form/movement patterns during this time is an excellent way to increase our fitness and work on weaknesses.

The overhead squat assessment can tell us so much about one’s fitness level. It can help determine breaks in your kinetic chain and it can also help identify overactive/underactive muscle groups.

The OHS test should be performed with no load (no weight). ***I don’t recommend the OHS test as pictured in this video*** But once you’ve developed and mastered skills of balance, proprioception, strength and power, this is a fun way to challenge yourself.

I’ve been humbled.. I’ve always considered myself to be a high level competitor. In my own head “One of the best”. I thought if I didn’t have the experience it didn’t matter, I’ll out work them.
I started CrossFit a few months ago and quickly found that competitive side of me that I missed. So I entered the CrossFit open to see how I stacked up...
No rep after no rep, maxing out time caps. I was failing. It wasn’t an easy pill to swallow. So many excuses. Of course, it was me. I hadn’t paid my dues. CrossFit It’s definitely an art, a skill that you have to hone. Just like many things in life.
Expecting to be the best and get quick results isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Learn to humble yourself, be patient, be resilient. Progress will happen. A couple more reps here, a few lbs there. It’s a long road. I found out that it’s the challenge I love more than being “the best”.

If you don’t challenge yourself, you’ll never realize what you can become. -
