-2 Under 69 😎⛳️ (First time breaking par)

Okay so I’m just having a round, driver -> wedge on every hole and just sticking it. I’m 4 under thru 16 and I just missed two birdie putts on 15 and 16 both under 10 feet. Bogey 17. Driver hard slice into the first fairway on 18. I still have an open lane to the green and a great lie so whatever just need to get out of the fairway for the people on the first tee box. I SLICE IT HARD…again…this time right at the first tee box. Scream fore twice. Walk up and and say “hey sorry about that did it land close?” Guy says yea right next to him and he threw my ball down the 1st fairway. Real tough guy in front of his gf. (Thanks Will Smith). I’m like “Buddy I’m 3 under and just hit a couple bad shots!” “That’s not very nice!” Anyway good news there’s no penalty on my part for that!

Day 2 of my 36th adventure around the sun 🌎 💫 ☀️

One of my major goals as I continue to get older is to keep moving more. Which means it’s important to me that I:

1. Do physical activity that I enjoy 🥾

2. Maintain or gain as much strength as I can while staying lean
🏋️‍♂️
3. Respect any injuries that may come by rehabbing them appropriately (opposed to blatantly ignoring them and “pushing thru”).

The difference between strength training and skill training is often blurry 🧐

The answer is in your point of focus for any given exercise 🎯 This exercise is for strength. If you’re a golfer, let me explain how it can benefit your game and why you may need to use it before hitting the range 🏌️‍♂️

In any sport, to maximize power, you want to use your body to summate (add +) forces from the ground through your core and out your hands 🥊

In golf 🏌️‍♂️not only will this help power but it’s also important for managing ball direction, especially with your longer clubs (do you righties slice your driver way right like me?)↗️➡️

In the downswing, your hips (It’s all in the hips 🖐🏿) should initiate the downswing, followed by the shoulders, then the hands, and lastly the club head to generate speed and swing path. If this sequence is out of order from a physical limitation, (most often it’s the inability to you move your hips separately from your shoulders) then this exercise is for you.

This exercise passively mobilizes a greater turn in the shoulders with the resistance from the cables. With intense intent on initiating the turn from your legs, it will help strengthen separation from your hips and shoulders. Giving you the ability to have a more full turn which will allow you to control direction better, AND giving you more power 💥

Exercise is a frequently misunderstood component of performance training and understandably so. To find out more about what exercise can benefit your swing make sure to get an assessment from your local fitness professional and save yourself $500 from a new driver that just ultimately gives you the same problems 💰 💰 💰

1. Windmills
2. Medial/Lateral Rotational Hops
3. Anti - Rotation Press (5 iron stance)
4. Side Throws (Push-Pull 👣 emphasis)

Slow moving Mondays are better than a no moving Monday 🤙🏽

After a full week of over-eating and drinking alcohol I’m feeling weak and sluggish. Many of you may get an itch to make up for it on your first workout back but I like to ease into it for a couple reasons:

Goal 1: Show up on Monday, sometimes the dread of a hard workout is enough to avoid it.

Goal 2: Mobilize cuz you’re probably stiffer than usual from excessive sitting and slouching (especially after long travel days) ✈️ Don’t go all in and end up hurting yourself.

Goal 3: Prioritize functional strength over endurance!! Your endurance will probably suck. If you sacrifice your strength your endurance will continue to suck, don’t try to play catchup!

Get a good nights sleep tonight and get back to building tomorrow 😴 🛌 🌙
