The people behind the powder.

We're always happy to see our team recognized, and this time it's longtime Island Lake Lodge snowcat operator Chad Schuett, featured in Fernie Fix Magazine's Local's Perspective.

With over 30 years in the ski industry, Chad has spent his career working in the mountains, from grooming at Fernie Alpine Resort to operating snowcats at Island Lake. Now heading into his sixth season with us, he shares a little about life behind the controls, his favourite corners of Fernie, and what keeps him coming back to the mountains.

Just a reminder that our lower parking lot will remain open for the next couple of weeks for anyone looking to enjoy the hiking and biking trails this fall. 🍂

The road up to the lodges is closed and gated. Although things may seem quiet, staff and contractors are continuously traveling the road until the snow flies.

Please use the lower parking lot and enjoy the trails safely!
