Burnout doesn’t always look like falling apart.
Sometimes it looks like still showing up. Still answering emails. Still meeting deadlines. Still taking care of everyone else—while quietly feeling exhausted, disconnected, or like you have less and less left to give.
Burnout research reminds us that it isn’t simply about being “bad at handling stress.” Our workload matters, but so can feeling unsupported, having little control, experiencing unfairness, feeling unrecognized, or noticing that our work no longer aligns with what matters to us.
And while rest can absolutely help, sometimes recovery also means getting curious about what’s draining you in the first place.
💭 A question to sit with this week:
What am I needing more of—or less of—right now?
You don’t have to wait until you’re completely depleted to seek support.
