When I was doing my end of year review, I worked my way through one of my favorite tools-the Wheel of Life. There are many versions out there-all wonderful!-but I like using the wheel that I got from my training program. iPEC (my training program) also created "sub" wheels for each area on the main wheel of life. I really like these wheels, because they give me a bit more focus when trying to review and vision.

My experience this year was very fulfilling and satisfying. In the past, I've rushed through this process, but this year, I was enjoying the slowness and digging in. What I found when I was done completing my wheels was that I didn’t have any areas that were really out of synch with the rest of my Life. Oh sure, I definitely have areas that I want to improve or focus on over the next year, but when I saw my completed wheels, I felt relatively well-rounded. See what I did there?

The beauty of my experience this year was that I took myself through me same process I take my clients through. As I went through each “sub” wheel, overarching goals became glaringly clear to me. For example, I want to create high energy relationships, get back to meal planning, declutter my home, and have more time each week to focus on my creative pursuits.

If you had asked me before d**g this exercise what I wanted to work on, I'd have had no real clue where to start in articulating what I’d like to work on this year. But now, I’ve got goals that I can create actions for AND make clear decisions about what aligns with my goals. The most powerful piece of this for me is that, because my goals reflect my values, it will be so much easier to maintain my motivation and excitement for the entire year

What about you? Do you have goals or resolutions for this new year? How do you create your goals? Do you dig in? Or are you just running from fire to fire in your world? Are you able to reach your goals and/or keep your new year's resolutions? Have you figured out what gets in the way? Leave comment-I’d love to hear about you!

Every year, I spend time considering what my word of the year will be. I pretty much obsess over it for the last quarter of the year. I spend time online in dictionaries, encyclopedias. and other strange rabbit holes exploring the etymology and meaning of the words that are resonating with me. But most of all, I try to figure out how any word can kick my ass through the upcoming year.

For example, "strength" is a lovely word... but what experiences and situations need to manifest in my life to be able to fully explore what "strength" can mean to me? NO. THANK. YOU. Hahaha!

Another word that terrifies me as a word of the year choice is "clarity" - AW HELL NO, UNIVERSE! I know by being a human, I will have plenty of opportunities for growth (aka
challenges). I do not need to invite in an excessive amount more than already!

When you have this kind of perspective choosing a word of the year can be very tricky-hence an entire quarter of the year obsessing over it. In years past, I’ve chosen some amazing words: grace, being, bloom, and practice. I almost chose savor for this year based on my experiences over the past few weeks. But alas, another word raced to the front of line. Drum roll please... my 2023 Word of the Year is... abundance.

Ok, so it’s an overused word, but hear me out. My first thought was to use the word "more". Well, going down the "what fresh hell can this bring into my life" road how revealed immediately that "more" was not a good juju word for me.

Believe me, I tried to NOT use the word abundance because it's so ridiculously overused. But, as I was reading into the definition I came across this variation: “plentifulness of the good things in life."

WHO DOESN'T WANT PLENTIFULNESS OF THE GOOD THINGS IN LIFE?!

I know it may not be the right word for you this year... but what IS your word of the year? Have you chosen one yet? Do you have any quirks in your process of choosing a word? How do you determine if it's the right word for you? I'd love to hear about your word, so drop a comment below!

It's been a slow start to 2023 for me, and the truth is that I've been loving it. I purposefully took time off over the winter holidays to be fully present with my family and to enjoy the short days and long nights.

And let me tell you, its been an eye opening and relaxing experience. It has made me realize that every year, I want to have this kind of down time from all the shoulds, and be completely present with my family and celebrations. I have some tweaks to make for the end of this coming year, but the time is already marked off of my calendar.

Even though I took time off in some regards, I spent quite a bit of time reviewing my past year and visioning for this new year. At a relaxed pace, though, rather than at a break-neck "holy crap gotta get it done because im running out of time” pace. I actually never realized that I moved at that speed until this year. Prior to this season, these review plan activities always were deadlined "shoulds" - I'd spend a day making my way through that to do ist so I could just get on to it next item on my list.

But this season was a season of savoring. Even as I write that out, it gives in the goosebumps. I savored my holiday celebrations. I savored moments with my family. I savored travel time. I savored my accomplishments AND failures when I was reviewing my year. I let ideas for my vision, intentions, goals, and word of the year marinate without a due date. Most of all, I slowed down and focused on what was most important to me. I allowed inspiration to be my guide.

My family and I haven't stopped talking about how incredible our winter holidays were - "the best ever!" And while I can't speak for anyone else, I know that for me, this conscious slowing down, savoring, marinating time was the biggest influence for me.

So much so that I’m still moving slow! And I'm okay with that. I'm okay with easing into this new adventure called 2023. I'm OK with NOT feeling the pressure of "hustle" and "grind". I'm just going to keep savoring my moments, days, and experiences, rolling along at the pace that moves me each day.

Cheers to 2023!

It’s official…the Framily Season is here. The time when so many of us try to smash time with all the family and all the friends into such a short period of time. Travels and food galore.

For me, that all sounds divine.

For others, notsomuch.

I’ve got some advice for all of us to keep in mind over the next six weeks of Framily Season:

-be gentle to yourself
-take time to breath
-remember that boundaries are allowed
-saying no is just as important as saying yes
-make conscious choices about what you want to experience and how you want to show up.

If this sounds tough, get on a call with me or send me a message and we’ll get you some clarity about how to get through this season.

COR.E Transitions DynamicsTM is the most comprehensive process for mastering the transitions in your life.

Transitions are an inevitable part of life. Some transitions are chosen, while others are given to us. Some transitions are major, and some are minor. Knowing how to deal with ALL transitions in your life from a highly conscious perspective will greatly increase your comfort with change and leave you excited and energized for what lies ahead (even when that is unknown).

Using this program, you will learn to:

-Understand the COR.E Transitions Dynamics process and how to implement it to successfully navigate the transitions in your life.
-Develop confidence, feel it during all your interactions and challenges, and keep it in the aftermath of adversity.
-Create long-term, powerful goals and short-term strategies that work toward the future AND have an immediate effect on how you show up and perform.
-Remove distractions in order to develop concentration, focus, alertness, decision-making abilities, and other attributes of those who successfully navigate life’s transitions.
-Create a philosophy/life perspective that resonates with high energy in order to create success in all aspects of life.

COR.E Transitions DynamicsTM draws on the concept that at the time of a transition, such as starting a new job, downsizing to a condo in another state after you sold the house your children grew up in, dealing with a new disability, or waiting months and months to adopt a baby, nothing is more important in that moment, than the energy you’re experiencing.

This week is that time when the hustle really hits us. For me, it’s jam-packed with travels, packing, unpacking, time with family and friends, laundry, making lots and lots of food, and maybe somewhere in there, time to relax.

I’m feeling it over here, how about you?

Each day this week, I’m taking a little moment to breathe. I want to take it all in and appreciate every moment, every person that I have contact with, and all the experiences I’m having this week.

Yes, even the super busy and overloaded moments! What richness life has when we take a moment to pause and be grateful for it all.

What about you? Are you overloaded this week? Are you taking time to be grateful and appreciative? I’d love to hear about it, so drop a comment!

Recently, I was speaking with a client about how he’s always over preparing for everything. He completely stresses himself out by over working to make sure that he appears that he has everything figured out.

He wants to be sure that the people he’s working with see that he knows what he’s doing and is truly an expert in his field.

Any time he doesn’t have an answer to something, he feels like a failure. He’s ashamed to have to go find the answer somewhere, rather than having it all at the ready, immediately, from his head.

While this has served him well to help him actually become an expert in his field, it’s also currently costing him time on other projects and he’s feeling completely burnt out.

As we explored this, he came upon the idea that all of his over preparing is really just a coping mechanism for him to feel accepted and approved. He truly felt that unless the people around him thought he had it all together, they wouldn’t trust him or they’d think he didn’t know how to do his job.

These next few weeks, he’s working on not thinking that way.

He’s working on finding the sweet spot of being prepared, AND having faith that knowing where to find the answers is possibly more valuable to himself and others than trying to keep it all in his head.

He’s working on reminding himself that he has his responsibilities because he’s already proven that he knows what he’s doing and that he’s intelligent enough to handle what comes his way, without having to over prepare.

He’s working on noticing that others around him do accept him as an expert in his field and that they approve of his work.

What about you? Do you over prepare? What can you do this week to find the sweet spot?

I see you. I see you out there working your ass off to make changes in your life. I see you chasing your goals and posting posts. I see you trying to do all the things that allow you to be everything to everyone.

I also see what you don’t show on your posts.

I see you looking for a break by binging on your favorite tv show after cleaning up after dinner. I see the exhaustion of the day catching up to you as you fall into bed each night.

I see you staring at the ceiling in the dark while your brain runs its hamster wheel of all the things you didn’t get done that day. I see you worrying about all the people you feel you’re responsible to take care of and how to solve their problems.

I see you wondering how you’re going to do this over and over again with no end in sight. I see you wondering why the goals you’re chasing, and sometimes reaching, aren’t making you happy. I see you questioning your goals, questioning your capability, and questioning who you are supposed to be showing up as in life.

I see your dreams. I believe in your capability to achieve them. I believe in your worthiness to live the most fulfilling life you crave.

I also see that you’re missing the piece of the puzzle that will get you there. I see the missing piece that will allow you to enjoy your journey of reaching your goals, not just having joy when you finally get there.

I have that puzzle piece and I want to share it with you. Maybe you’re a little nervous, because you don’t know what to expect. I was definitely that way when I first started with my own coach. That fear of the unknown faded as soon as I understood how coaching works. I bring that clarity and confidence to my clients, and I can bring that to you, too.

Stop the hamster wheel, girl. Get on a call with me and let’s figure out what your missing piece looks like together. Send me a message or click on the book now link in my bio to set up a call. I’ll answer all of your questions about coaching, and then we’ll dig into what going on with you and come up with some ideas on how to move forward so you’re not feeling so overwhelmed.

How do you begin to have confidence in who you are, and not be afraid to go after what you really want in life?

Stop focusing on all the things you’re not.

Stop focusing on all of your perceived flaws.

Start removing unrealistic self-imposed expectations about what you should be doing or who you should be.

Start to rediscover who you truly are and celebrate that person you find.

Confidence isn’t based on other people’s approval of us. As we stop searching for acceptance and approval from outside of ourselves, we realize that it’s only ourselves that determine if we are enough, if we are doing it “right”, and if what we truly want in our lives is worth chasing.

Confidence comes from losing our self judgement of who we are right now and who we think we should be.

Confidence comes from being exactly who you are, and determining for yourself what is most important and meaningful to you.

So, big questions for you…
Do you know who you truly are? Do you know what you really want in life? Have you taken the time to slow down to figure that out yet? If you haven’t, now is the time.

11/11/2022

I never used to enjoy group work when I was younger. I didn’t like relying on other people to complete their share of the work, and I always got stressed about whether I was contributing enough or too much. But recently, I was speaking with someone who had a different take on the desire to work alone.

They operated from a place of feeling that they weren’t successful if they didn’t do it themselves, and even mentioned feeling ashamed for even needing help.

They didn’t celebrate successful outcomes that were completed in partnership with others.

As we dug deeper, they admitted they felt true failure if they weren’t able to solve problems on their own in any area of their life. They felt they SHOULD be able to handle everything without assistance.

Not only did they refuse to ask for help, but they also refused help when it was offered to them.

Does this sound like you?

Do you feel that you must accomplish everything on your own or else you’re a failure?

Do you tell yourself, or even others, that you don’t need help from anyone?

The person I was speaking with had realized that their desire to go it alone was wasting a ton of time for themselves and others. They were constantly feeling like they were under stress, and even realized they were creating stress for others. Most importantly, they realized that by not asking for help, they were missing out on the important parts of their life like time with family.

So, if this sounds like you, what is this way of operating costing you?

It’s wonderful to be independent, but not when its costing you the things that are most important to you.

“The only thing that’s keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself.” -Tony Robbins

Changing your thoughts is the most effective way to create sustainable change in your life. Specifically, focusing on shifting catabolic (destructive) thoughts to anabolic (constructive) thoughts creates an energy shift at the root of your emotions and actions.

When we focus on shifting our thoughts, it’s kind of like pulling the weeds out and making sure we get all the roots out. If we don’t get the roots, those weeds are going to come back! Changing the way we think about something is so powerful for us. As we create a new perspective and paradigm of our own goals, we also shift our perspective of the entire world we live in.

Focusing on shifting our thoughts to anabolic thoughts can be really challenging. We need to first become aware of the destructive thoughts that are driving our emotions and actions - those things are quick little suckers! Once we become aware of the stories we’re telling ourselves, we can make conscious choices of what stories we actually WANT to be telling ourselves.

As you begin to explore your thoughts, ask yourself what thoughts will best serve you to reach your goals AND sustain the change you want to see in your life.

New program coming January 2023: COR.E Transitions DynamicsTM

COR.E Transitions DynamicsTM draws on the concept that at the time of a transition, such as starting a new job, downsizing to a condo in another state after you sold the house your children grew up in, dealing with a new disability, or waiting months and months to adopt a baby, nothing is more important in that moment, than the energy you’re experiencing.

That’s because dealing with any transition requires that you perform tasks – whether that task is interviewing for a new position, having a difficult conversation with your spouse, packing up your home, or a myriad of other possibilities – and the more energy you have available for that task, the higher the potential for extraordinary performance. The better your performances are, the more effectively you’ll be able to navigate transitions and live an extraordinary life.

COR.E Transitions DynamicsTM integrates a knowledge base with the use of an assessment and a learning process that facilitates the ability to make successful transitions for individuals in whatever area of life they would like to feel more successful, satisfied, and engaged.

Imagine this... what might be possible if you…

-were more aware,
-were more confident,
-were more consistent,
-were more connected to others and self, and
-had access to a systematic, repeatable approach to mastering the transitions in your life?

Contact me to learn how you can navigate your way to successful transitions today.
