**Nobody quits because the work is too hard.**
They quit because somewhere around month three they decide they’re not cut out for it.
I see it in sales all the time. Someone makes a hundred calls, books two meetings, then stacks that against the name at the top of the board who has been doing this for nine years. The hundred calls were working. The grading is what killed it.
It’s the same person who skips the gym because they don’t like what they look like in the mirror yet. Same person who records four podcast episodes, hears their own voice, and never publishes a fifth. Same person who quits the guitar or the camera or the business three weeks in because they aren’t good at it yet, which is exactly what being three weeks in sounds like.
Judging yourself is not part of the work. It feels like accountability. It’s really a second job you gave yourself, and it doesn’t pay.
The only thing that moves you is reps. Calls made. Sets finished. Episodes posted. Follow ups you didn’t skip. Where you are today is just how many you’ve put in so far. That’s a count, not a verdict on who you are.
You can’t go back and add reps to last year. You can only do the next one.
So go do the next one.
