Competitive Game Ends In Walkoff As Indiana Dawgs 16U Falls To Groove Baseball Club 16U

A walk-off left Indiana Dawgs 16U on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to Groove Baseball Club 16U on Sunday. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the eighth when DJ Enkhorn singled, scoring one run.
Indiana Dawgs 16U fell behind by seven runs in the second inning, but then tried to fight back. Indiana Dawgs 16U closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a walk, a hit by pitch, a double, an error, a double, and a single.
Groove Baseball Club 16U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Wyatt Harshbarger scored after tagging up, and Eli Barnes doubled, each scoring one run.
Groove Baseball Club 16U scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the second inning. Enkhorn drew a walk, scoring one run, Isaac Jackson drew a walk, scoring one run, Ashton Abbott drew a walk, scoring one run, and Harshbarger singled, scoring two runs.
Indiana Dawgs 16U tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a double by Alex Mays, an error, and a double by Sebastion Collazo.
A single by Eddie Vandivier gave Indiana Dawgs 16U the lead, 8-7, in the top of the seventh.
Indiana Dawgs 16U committed an error, which helped Groove Baseball Club 16U tie the game at eight in the bottom of the seventh.
Aiden Rowan pitched five innings in relief for Indiana Dawgs 16U. They gave up five hits and zero runs while, striking out six and walking two. Jayden Standish led things off on the hill for Indiana Dawgs 16U. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking five. Cole Weidenburner started the game for Groove Baseball Club 16U. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and seven runs (five earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking seven.
Vandivier provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Indiana Dawgs 16U with three runs batted in. They went 1-for-3 on the day. Dylan Pezel led Indiana Dawgs 16U with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Indiana Dawgs 16U had patience at the plate, accumulating 11 walks for the game. Gabe Gutierrez, Rowan, Standish, and Collazo led the team with two walks each.
Barnes, Harshbarger, and Luke Harshbarger each collected two hits for Groove Baseball Club 16U. Harshbarger and Enkhorn each drove in two runs for Groove Baseball Club 16U. Abbott paced Groove Baseball Club 16U with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Groove Baseball Club 16U turned one double play in the game.

Pitching Impressive As Indiana Dawgs 16U Beat Five Star Indiana-Jenkins 16U

Both teams were strong on the bump on Saturday, but Indiana Dawgs 16U defeated Five Star Indiana-Jenkins 16U 3-1. Alex Mays started the game for Indiana Dawgs 16U and recorded 21 outs.
Indiana Dawgs 16U got on the board in the third inning after Gabe Gutierrez doubled, scoring one run.
Jace Jenkins grounded out, which helped Five Star Indiana-Jenkins 16U tie the game at one in the top of the fourth.
Indiana Dawgs 16U took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Five Star Indiana-Jenkins 16U committed an error, and Jenkins balked, each scoring one run.
Mays earned the win for Indiana Dawgs 16U. The righty gave up three hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Jenkins started on the hill for Five Star Indiana-Jenkins 16U. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and three runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Eddie Vandivier and Dylan Pezel each collected two hits for Indiana Dawgs 16U. Gutierrez went 1-for-2 at the plate as the infielder led the team with one run batted in.
Jenkins, Kale Warner, and Micah Monahan each collected one hit for Five Star Indiana-Jenkins 16U. Jenkins led Five Star Indiana-Jenkins 16U with one run batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day.
