#2 state ranked Varsity Cherokees fell in the Sectional 49 Quarterfinal to #1 ranked Kouts by a score of 6-2 on Friday afternoon in Westville, ending their season.

Thank you to our seniors Matt and Carter for all you did for this program. This team won 18 regular season games, the most since 2012, had the #1 SOS in 1A, held the highest state ranking in MT baseball history, finished 2nd in the PCC, highest since at least the 1990s, and won their first PCC tournament game since 2018.

We are proud of all of our players, and thankful to all parents, families, and fans that came out to support this spring.

A huge thanks to the Dworchak family for hosting an excellent team meal prior to our Sectional Opener tomorrow at 2 PM in Westville!!

The boys got a great team meal, had a blast spending time by the lake and playing games, and continuing to build their brotherhood after the last day of school!

Cherokees Win!!!

Varsity Cherokees (18-10) take the regular season finale by a score of 2-0 over Calumet Christian on the final game at Curtis G Casbon Field of the year!

Their 18th regular season W is the most that a Morgan squad has collected since the 2012 group. The 2026 squad has done this despite playing 16/28 games vs 3A/4A competition with the #1 SOS in 1A!

SO Caleb Ksenak was COTD, as he collected 2 hits at the plate but was dominant on the mound! The SO righty threw 5 shutout on 47 pitches, 77% strikes, striking out 5 and walking none! SO Noah Ladra came in for the 2 inning save, his first career HS save! JR Cal Lemmons was 2 for 3 with an RBI and R, also throwing out a runner. JR Clint Lemmons went 2 for 3, FR Clayton Atchison added a hit and RBI as well as his 30th stolen base of the year.

Through the end of regular season play, JR Clint Lemmons ended up with 36/36 steals which put him 3rd in the state of Indiana! FR Clayton Atchison was right behind him with 30/32 steals which put him in the top 10.

Cherokees now prep to open sectional play on Friday at 2:00 PM in Westville vs Kouts! Come on out to support your state ranked Cherokees!

Cherokees Win!!

Varsity Cherokees (17-10) pickup a huge win over a strong 3A Highland squad on Saturday AM in the penultimate regular season contest.

JR Drew Horvath picked up his 2nd W of the week with 5 innings of 2 run ball, striking out 5. FR Clayton Atchison shut it down on the mound, throwing 2 IP with 0 BB and 3 Ks.

COTD JR Cal Lemmons led the offense, smoking his first HR of the year, a 3 run shot in the 6th, going 4 for 4 with a 2B, HR, 4 RBI, and 2 R. FR Caleb Ksenak also stayed hot with a 3 for 3 day, scoring 3 runs. JR Clint Lemmons added a 2B, BB, 2 RBI, 2 SB, and 2 R. SO Noah Ladra added an RBI 2B and Atchison added a hit as well.

This was the Cherokees 17th regular season win, the most since 2017. The 2026 Cherokees have achieved this despite having the #1 SOS in 1A per MaxPreps‼️

Cherokees will finish the regular season Tuesday with a home matchup vs Calumet Christian. Sectional Play will begin Friday!
