Please be advised that the USA Truck Fitness Center will reopen on Monday September 7, 2020.

To use the Fitness Center, a Waiver of Liability must be signed and returned to Edwin Anglin, Assistant General Counsel. Printed copies are available from department leaders or the Legal Department. The Legal Department is located on the 2nd Floor of the East Wing, on the East Wall.


Lacking energy? Drink a glass of water and stay hydrated!


Carry healthy snacks in your truck. Fruit, nuts or protein bars are healthy snacks that are easy to munch on while on the road!


Most grocery stores have sufficient parking for tractor-trailers, although you may have to walk an extra bit. Here are a few items that you can choose:

✅Pre-washed bags of lettuce and spinach
✅Pre-washed and cut vegetables
✅Pre-washed and cut fruit
✅Whole pieces of fruit that are easy to clean
✅Grilling meat (especially chicken and turkey breasts)

For the grilling meat, you would need to have a portable grill. Fortunately, those are easily accessible at most large department stores and large chain grocery stores. It a great way to cook nutritious food on the go.

Top Healthy Habits for Over-the-Road Truck Drivers

Exercise is hard when you are an OTR driver. Here are some suggestions you might consider:

1. Folding bicycles can be stowed in the sleeper berth compartment and then tossed up in the passenger seat when it is time to go to bed.

2. Running shoes are an inexpensive option and very easy to store. You can go walking or jogging in the same places you would ride a bicycle.

3. Weights can be just as effective, although you want to be careful in your selections. Make sure you have a good place to secure them. You do not want them to roll under your acceleration pedal, brake or clutch.

4. Fitbits or Pedometers can be used in conjunction with the bicycle or running shoes, allowing you to track your progress. Tracking your progress is a fantastic motivator.

Walking is one the simplest ways to get active and today, April 3 is National Walking Day!

In support of the American Heart Association, we would like to encourage everyone to take a walk. Between the hours of 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., we are asking anyone who wants to participate to take a lap (or 2) around the building.

With each step you take, you travel further down the path to a healthier lifestyle. Research has shown that walking can have a significant impact on your health by lowering your chances of heart disease.


As it turns out, nearly 90% of us desire exercise - even if we aren't actively doing it. Raise the bar this weekend!
