Efrain's gym, "Ten Goose Boxing Gym' is located in Van Nuys, California. 14420 Friar Street, Van Nuys, CA 91401 phone # 818-310-1294 and 661-350-1343.. He has been there for 15 years. Also, for those who just want to be fit and healthy. There are boxing locations both in Hollywood and Palmdale to serve you as well.
A boxing career that started when he was only sixteen years old in Mexico City, Efrain started boxing professionally when he was twenty years old. He was trained by the manager "Nacho" Beristáin. He has been in fights in Acapulco, Salina Cruz, Oaxaca Puebla, Monterey, Guadalajara, Culiacan, Reynosa, Toluca, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Mazatlan, Vera Cruz, and Mexico City. Among many boxers that Efrain has worked with are; Humberto "La Chicita" Gonzalez, Daniel Zaragosa, Victor Manuel Rabanalez, Jose Luis Bueno, The Marquez Brothers, and many others.
Born on September 21, 1958 in Los Berros, Mexico, Efrain grew up on a ranch and was very close to his family. He loved these natural, simple surroundings and helped his family on the ranch as a child. He walked five miles every day to school. He has many fascinating stories to tell about his life on the ranch when he was a little.
When Efrain was fifteen, he wanted to start a new life and provide for his family. He moved to Mexico City, and that is where he started his career in boxing. His original intention upon moving to the city was to study law and he worked at various jobs, one of them being the famous "La Merced" to pay for his schooling and to help his family. He took up boxing because he always enjoyed watching boxing on television when he was a child and wanted to become a boxer. He soon became very serious about it and boxing became a full-time career for Efrain, and still is to this day. He moved from Mexico City to Los Angeles, California in 1992.
Running marathons is something that Efrain has won four medals for in Mexico City. After his move to Los Angeles, California, Efrain still runs, such as through Laurel Canyon from Sunset to Van Nuys several times a week for fun and to keep in shape. He also enjoys running long distances in the mountains, such as through Topanga Canyon to Malibu.
