Sorry I have been MIA for a while. Life has been tough lately for my household. But I will get back to posting training videos here soon. I just wanted to let everyone know that with a lot of consideration I will not be doing world this year. After my last two performances I realized I have to get out of the weight bracket I currently compete at. So I am taking this year to focus on weight loss and building my skill even more for next year. I will still compete throughout this year in whatever weight class I am at in my weight loss journey. Thank you all for the continued support.

Honestly yesterday was a hard day for me. No one likes to take a loss. In my five and half years training this is the first major tournament I didn’t podium. It was an eye opener for sure. It showed me that I need to become more disciplined. I take every loss with a lesson and this loss taught me a lot about myself and what I want to accomplish in my life.
I lost a hard fought match. I fought until with 15 seconds left and I had to tap. Just have to focus more on the small details. Thank you to my Professor Bruno Luis Santanna Caglioni for his support and training. Thank you to all my teammates who helped me prepare for today. Thank you to my Uncle Hough Gary for coming to watch me. Thank you to my family and friends for all your support. Thank you to my sponsors Zoo-Jitsu and The HERD.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
Proverbs 27:17 NIV
When I first started training I heard this in the jiujitsu community a lot. “Iron sharpens Iron.” Little did I know at the time it’s also in the Bible. To me this verse bridges my love for jiujitsu and my faith together.
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) - As iron sharpens iron, so one perso | YouVersion As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
One month out from the first competition of the year. I will be traveling to Indianapolis. Have to cut some this month to make weight. Only 7 pounds very do able with diet and discipline.
