Important information for this weekends show:

About Biosecurity at our show: As most are aware, EHV and EIV (aka Flu/Rhino) is incredibly virulent and easily spread from horse to horse. While there is no way to irradicate this virus, we can all do our parts to prioritize our horses health while we are competing. As you well know, we require that you provide us with proof of Flu/Rhino vaccine having been administered with in the 6 months preceding the show. If you have not submitted this to the show secretary on your entry link in advance of Friday, please do not unload your horse until you have checked in and proved your vaccination.

There is, of course, the exception for horses who have had a reaction to the vaccine. But the exception must include a note from your vet and you must include a temperature log of temperatures taken 2 times per day for the 7 days preceding the show and you must return to the show office with the log daily while at the show. These are the minimum requirements.

We have had requests to limit entries for horses coming from facilities that may have had exposure to EHV-1. As a USEF licensed competition, we are not permitted to limit entries in this way.

We can and do strongly recommend that you keep a temperature log. Check your horses temperature and log it 2 times a day, starting immediately, this can be done either via paper record or you can log on to your USEF account, scroll down to “my horses”, select your horse and then select “Horse Health Record” the fourth option is “temperature log”.

Do not graze your horse while on the show grounds.

Do not pet or handle someone else’s horse without washing and sanitizing between horses.

Do not share equipment between horses unless it is cleaned and disinfected.

Do not submerge hoses in buckets when filling water buckets.

Report sick horses to management immediately. We do not have on site isolation. Any horses who show signs of illness will be required to be taken to the University of North Carolina Veterinary School for isolation and treatment immediately at the owners expense. We require regular updates from the veterinary team treating any sick horses.

Very important to know and understand: New bridle & bit check procedures: Per the updated bridle & bit inspection requirements in USEF Rulebook DR126.2.i.1.a (page 48) Technical Delegates (TD) are now required to inspect at least 50% of bridles & bits of horses entered in the competition. Along with ringside inspections.

Also, USEF has made it clear to our Technical Delegates that violations of the equipment rules, especially in consideration of equipment that affects the horse, should result in the issuing of a yellow card. Please take the time to read the equipment rules and make sure you don’t accidentally bring equipment that is not permitted.

Office Hours:

Friday: 12 pm to 6 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am to approximately 45 minutes after the last ride.
Sunday: 8:00 am to approximately 45 minutes after the last ride.

Schooling: On Friday 12 pm until sundown. You MUST have checked in and picked up your packet in order to school.

Our Technical Delegate is Robyn Nunnally. Robyn can be reached via call or text 757-284-1106. Robyn’s role at the show is to ensure that you are competing in a fair and safe environment for everyone.

Safe Sport is incredibly important in making this sport we love a place that is free of harassment, bullying and assault. For most of us, the barn is our sanctuary away from the world and all its stressors. Let’s make sure it is that way for all involved. Please know that if you are being harassed, bullied or assaulted, you can come to any member of the show team and we will respond in an appropriate manner.

E-scribing: We will be e-scribing this show. This means that you will not receive a physical copy of your test. Your test will be emailed to the rider and the owner. It will come from [email protected] and will contain a link that will bring you to a PDF version of your test with comments and the judges signature.

Awards: Though you will not receive a physical copy of your test, you still get awards! Please come by the office to pick them up.

Water for your horses is available in front of the show stabling area and right by the wash stalls.

The boarder barn, the barn attached to the indoor arena, will be closed to competitors and spectators.

Braiding and additional night watch services are available by contacting Kai Glenney at 413-240-1147.
