☀️ Bubble Down Success ☀️
What an incredible show of support this past weekend! With everyone’s contributions, we had around 80 volunteers come together to safely take down and store the bubble all before noon
— an amazing team effort! 💪
Because of YOU, the Great Bridge Swim and Racquet Club (GBSRC) pool is officially back to open air and soaking up those summer vibes just in time for swimmers returning from a well-deserved Spring Break! 🌊😎
We are so grateful for our dedicated ODAC families who always show up and get it done — but this time, our community stepped up in a big way too!👏 Huge shoutout to the Hickory High School Swim Team and Chesapeake Boy Scout Troop 901 for jumping in and providing some much-needed reinforcements. Your support made all the difference!
This is what community looks like. ❤️

🌊☀️ Long Course Season is Coming! ☀️🌊
After Spring Break, ODAC is diving straight into Long Course training, and we’re excited for what’s ahead! From April through July, swimmers will shift gears as we move into racing in 50-meter Olympic-size pools—a whole new challenge that builds endurance, strength, and race strategy.
Long Course season brings a slightly different training focus, with an emphasis on endurance, pacing, and race ex*****on. It’s a great opportunity for swimmers to grow, push limits, and experience a different side of the sport.
🏊♂️ Competition Highlights (Ages 9+):
Swimmers will have opportunities to compete both locally and travel to exciting meets, including:
• Senior Championships
• Sectionals
• Futures
• Junior Nationals
🌊 And for the adventurous…We’ll also be ditching the lane lines for a couple of open water meets this summer—perfect for building endurance and trying something new!
💬 Interested in joining ODAC? We’d love to have you! Check out our informational packet and schedule an evaluation to see if ODAC is the right fit for your swimmer.

🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – POTENTIAL BUBBLE TAKEDOWN THIS SATURDAY 🚨
We need your help! Due to unforeseen circumstances, we need to schedule THE great Bridge Swim & Racquet Club Pool bubble takedown sooner than anticipated. The bubble is currently being supported by the emergency backup system, so we know it won’t make it to our scheduled date later this month and it’s important we act quickly to address this safely.
We are working to determine if we can gather enough volunteers to move forward this Saturday.
💪 This is a large-scale effort requiring 75+ volunteers, including many individuals able to assist with physically demanding tasks.
We know it’s Spring Break and schedules may be tight — we truly appreciate any help you can offer. That said, we need an accurate headcount to ensure we can complete this safely and efficiently.
🗓 Please sign up by Wednesday evening so we can make a timely decision on whether we have enough support to proceed. We are happy to sign off on volunteer hours for NHS, schools/club/work volunteer hours, etc.

Thank you for always stepping up and supporting our team — we couldn’t do this without you!
