Tomorrow is a bittersweet day for me as it is my last session with Brittany before her and her family move across country to San Diego ๐Ÿ˜ญ Even when life got crazy busy for Brittany she still prioritized her health and fitness and began working out and eating clean again. This picture speaks for itself, but she has made amazing progress so far and I know she will keep it up! I truly have the best job ever and itโ€™s because of loyal hardworking clients like Brittany. Ella and I have been EXTREMELY sick with the Flu since Friday and we are finally starting to feel a little bit better. I truly wouldnโ€™t wish this sickness on anyone as I have never been this sick in my entire life!! It broke my heart to see my little girl so sick. It didnโ€™t help that Daddy was out of town, so I had to take care of Ella all while being super sick myself ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Good timessss!! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Anyway- I just want to apologize to my clients for being MIA and having to reschedule sessions etc. I appreciate your understanding and canโ€™t wait to get back into the gym and crush it with you all very soon! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Super proud of my husband and one of his best friends for completing a 50 mile ultra marathon trail run this past weekend. We had lots of fun and got to have some nice, quality family time 4 hours away in the beautiful mountains. Definitely a motivating experience. Hope everyone is having a great week!! Today I made this delicious Butternut Squash Soup in my . It came out very good, and is the perfect fall dish. I figured I would share the recipe with all of you! Every Sunday we make a different soup, and this one is definitely on the top of the list.

Makes 8 servings
Cooking time: 6 hours

1 medium butternut squash (2 lb of peeled and cubed butternut squash)
1 medium onion, diced
1 lb carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
1 granny smith apple, peeled and sliced
6 cups vegetable broth
1 bay leaf
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp dried ground sage
1 (13.5 oz) can coconut milk
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Combine squash, onion, carrots, apple, broth and bay leaf in slow cooker.

2. Cover and cook on LOW for about 6 hours, or until veggies are soft.

3. Remove bay leaf and discard. Transfer contents of slow cooker to a blender and blend until smooth (or you can use an immersion blender, they're the best!).

4. When smooth, pour back into the slow cooker and add in salt, pepper, sage and coconut milk. Stir. Taste and then add more salt and pepper to taste. (I probably added in an additional 1/2 tsp of salt)

5. Serve and enjoy ๐Ÿ˜‹

Figured I would share my lunch with you guys because it was so yummy! Delicious veggie sandwich and apple! Organic, fresh Rye bread from Whole Foods Bakery topped with mashed avocado, sliced cherry tomatoes, and baby spinach. I lightly toasted the bread, and OMG it was so good! Healthy definitely is NOT boring.


Here is a little for you guys! The left picture was taken November 2010 right before Shawn and I got married. I weighed approximately 165 pounds, and was beyond miserable with myself and my body. College had gotten the best of me, and my sedentary lifestyle mixed with poor diet/nutrition put me in an unhealthy place. Fast forward to the right picture..July 2017, I weigh 138 pounds and finally feel comfortable and STRONG in my own skin! But i must say, it did not happen overnight. In 2014 when I delivered Ella, I was 205 pounds. With hard work, consistency, and a drive to be better, I lost those 65+ pounds. However, I gained a whole lot more. Health, happiness, and confidence!! Only up from here! I hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

I am sitting here making my food shopping list for tomorrow, and I figured I would share a little tip with you guys. Every Sunday, we cook and prep food to get us through the week. With busy, unpredictable schedules this keeps us on track and saves time during the week. I always feel good going into the week with meals planned/prepped. This makes it easier to budget and not overspend on groceries as well, a win-win in my book!
