What an incredible night. New Year Same Buckets was bigger than basketball — it was about community, competition, and coming together for a purpose: supporting Shawn “The Animal” Sanders.

Huge thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. planted the seed, and together with , .atm, and we worked to make it happen. Major appreciation to all members of HR Knights, Virginia Hoop League, Coops Hoops, and Off The Heezy Ent for putting in the time, energy, and effort behind the scenes and throughout the event. Shout out to , the referees and everyone else that donated their time and resources to the event. It truly took a team effort to make this successful.

Because of everyone involved — the players who laced up and competed, and the fans who showed up, donated, and supported — we raised a gross total of $1,056 for Shawn. 🙏🏽

The atmosphere was love. The competition was real. The purpose was bigger than all of us.

The Hampton Roads Knightz will try to defend their home against Mr Alexander’s Team in a 15U matchup.

Shawn Sanders put on a show all season long in the Virginia Hoop League! 💪🔥 Averaging 19 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 1.3 SPG, and a PIE of 20.6 (2nd highest in the league), Shawn’s all-around game made him unstoppable.
Already a 3x Champion, he proved once again why he’s one of the league’s most dominant and versatile players — posting up, attacking the rim, knocking down the mid-range, hitting the three, and locking up on defense. Relentless, versatile, and giving 100% every game ensured that his team stayed on par for wins, every game. His unique ability to put up solid numbers while playing off the ball is what sets him apart from most. Impressive as the numbers are, they don’t tell the whole story. You have to be courtside to witness the Animal in action!
And to top it off? He also took home the All-Star Game MVP 🌟.
