What if...

“I don't know” doesn't always mean there is nothing there?

Sometimes we genuinely don't know.

We need more information. More time. More wisdom. More understanding.

But I've also discovered that sometimes I don't know is carrying something else.

We may be afraid of making the wrong decision.

Maybe we've spent years having our ideas questioned, our opinions dismissed, or our decisions challenged.

And somewhere along the way, we began doubting whether what we think is even worth considering.

So we wait.

For someone else to tell us.
For certainty.
For an answer that removes the possibility of getting it wrong.

But perhaps we don't need to know everything before we begin.

Maybe we can become curious about what we already see.

We can ask questions, consider possibilities, bring what we're sensing before God, and take an honest step.

Then pay attention.

Because changing direction doesn't necessarily mean the first step was a mistake.

Sometimes the first step reveals something we simply couldn't see while standing still.

We don't have to know the entire road to begin traveling it with God.

Maybe today you don't know everything yet.

But perhaps…

you know enough to begin. ❤️

Three Simple Words...I Don't Know

Three Simply Words: I Don't Know Three simple words can carry more than we realize: I don't know. Sometimes we genuinely don't know. But sometimes those words may be hiding something else—fear of making the wrong decision, uncertainty about what we think, or a habit of looking to someone else for ...

Sometimes growth becomes visible in places we wouldn't necessarily think to look for it.

One of those places is in our comversations.

We may notice that something that once would have caused us to immediately defend ourselves doesn't have quite the same power anymore.

We can hear another person's perspective without feeling as though we have to abandon our own.

We can disagree without making disagreement a threat to our value.

We can even recognize that we preceived something wrong without allowing that realization to become a statement about who we are.

Those may seem like small changes.

But I've come to appreciate them as evidence of something deeper happening within us-transformation.

As our security becomes increasingly rooted in our relationship with God, we don't need every interaction with another person to tell us who we are.

And that gives us greater freedom in our relationships.

Freedom to listen.

Freedom to remain curious.

Freedom to own what belongs to us.

And freedom to release what doesn't.

Sometimes transformation doesn't announce itself with a dramatic moment.

Sometimes we simply recognize:

I don't have to respond to this the way I once did.
And perhaps that's worth noticing. ❤️

What Difficult Conversations Reveal.

My prayer for you this week is that you begin to recognize the quiet ways God has been growing you—that you become increasingly secure in who He created you to be, and that from that place, you find greater freedom to meet the people in your life with both truth and love.

Who we are becoming with God doesn’t remain within us. It shapes the way we show up with others-even when the conversation is difficult. ❤️

What Difficult Conversations Reveal What happens inside of us when a difficult conversation crosses our path? I’ve come to recognize that the way we show up in these moments may reveal far more than what we think about the issue at hand. It can reveal where we’re looking for validation, what we....

I've been thinking about how easy it is to become so occupied with living our lives that we stop noticing how we're actually experiencing them.

We fulfill responsibilities.

We care for people.

We do what needs to be done.

And sometimes, somewhere along the way, we lose touch with the ordinary things that bring us joy.

But I've been discovering that building a life we love doesn't necessarily require a dramatic change in circumstances.

Sometimes it begins with awareness.

Recognizing what genuinely restores us.

Noticing what brings us joy.

Making room for something meaningful simply because we enjoy it.

And allowing those discoveries to influence the choices we make.

The more intimately I've come to know God, the more truthfully I've come to understand myself.

And that growing awareness has helped me recognize that even in seasons filled with responsibility, there may still be room to participate in creating a life I genuinely enjoy.

Not a perfect life.

Not a life without sacrifice or difficulty.

But a life in which I'm intentionally participating rather than simply responding to everything around me.

Perhaps a life you love isn't something you suddenly arrive at one day.

Maybe it's something you begin intentionally participating in…one ordinary choice at a time. ❤️

A Life You Love:One Ordinary Choice at a Time What might an ordinary day reveal about how well you actually know yourself? In this week's conversation, I'm exploring what can happen when nothing is required of us—and whether we know what genuinely brings us joy, peace, restoration, and makes us fe...
