This month is all about the horse and how to strengthen the Wing Chun stance.
This video discusses how we can strengthen the calf to increase the push off we perform, especially with the back leg.
The calf is made of the Gastrocnemius and Soleus muscles which form into the Achilles Tendon. These muscles are really important for any leg mobility.
I misspoke in the video and said the exercise targets the Gastrocnemius muscle, but it actually targets more of the Soleus muscle, the rest of the information is the same.

Plyometric medicine ball toss/wall slam for explosive power.
Drive through the leg and push through the arm to deliver power.
This is very good for feeling the power from the foot all the way into and out of the arms.
The basic punch should definitely feel and improvement afterwards!!

The 4th exercise for the month (I know I misspoke in the video...).
Focusing on controlled movement of the hips on stationary shoulders. Continuing to work on connecting the core to the extremities for power.
If your shoulders more left your hips relatively move right thus you have to work both. This is important for twisting movements or when we try and do kicks or sweeps.

Week 3 of 4 for the Hip and Core Month.
This is a core twist focusing on moving the shoulders over the hips. This helps with strengthening the rotation strength needed for a majority of Wing Chun techniques.
Strengthen and mobilize the core to connect your techniques to your center of mass and deliver more power.
