It’s been thirteen whole years since Mrs. Elizabeth purchased Children’s Dance Center, slowly growing into Twinkle Toes Performing Arts Company! As we begin our fourteenth year together, I want to thank every teacher, grownup, and child who’ve made this dance studio feel like home for the past 13 years. You make the name of Twinkle Toes proud every day, wherever you are and whatever you’ve gone on to do. THANK YOU!!

Our students ages 11 and older took on a huge challenge this season with our group dance, “commUnity.” This piece brought together dancers of all ages and levels in an elite-level open line with complex formations, difficult musicality, and unique storytelling. Inspired by the music, each section changes pace and direction, including nods to traditional Greek dancing, current social dance, and maybe even a little Who-ville in there. At each competition, the dancers received a special honor: the Golden Egg at Inspire, first overall at ID, and the Showstopper at Fusion from not one, but TWO judges! They were also recognized as the highest scoring elite-level open dance for ages 13 and over at Fusion. We are beyond proud of you, dancers!

Today, we celebrate the life and contributions of Bill “Bojangles” Robinson and the internationally recognized Tap Dance Day! We love this style of dance, combining history, rhythm, and culture into one of the most inherently American styles of dance. The minis and juniors brought it this season with their modern piece, “Let’s Ketchup.” A piece exploring the joy of childhood and camaraderie, these dancers came together in an exuberant display of art, creativity, and enthusiasm. At each competition, the dancers received a special honor: the Takeoff to Nationals award at Fly, the Golden Egg at Inspire, and the Showstopper at Fusion. They received numerous first place overalls, the Terrific Technique award at Fusion, and the highest scoring modern dance for ages 12 and under at Fusion. We are beyond proud of you, dancers!

It’s time to start celebrating the amazing work by our competition team this season! Let’s begin by congratulating the amethyst team and guests on their beautiful work in “Interstellar.” This piece brought classical modern together through a unique, celestial lens. The dancers were poised, graceful, and controlled. We are so proud of all of you, and can’t wait to see where you’ll grow from here! ❤️
