Camp Bluedog 20th Annual is filling up.
This is going to be the biggest Camp ever. Maybe the biggest in the universe based on how many people are signing up. A weekend camp for older rippers and an action-packed day camp for the younger stars. Lots of riding, laughing, playing, snacks and trail building. CAMP BLUEDOG 2026!!!!
Just when we we're looking for something to get stoked on, some of our details for this year's 20th ANNIVERSARY CAMP BLUEDOG fell into place.
Perfect timing.
Here's some of the nitty gritty-
Camp Bluedog 2026 will be held July 10-12th. Weekend campers ages 8-18 will arrive on Friday and head home on Sunday. There will be a Super-Special Day Camp for ages 6-8 on Saturday the 11th.
Same Place- Sugar Creek
This is the 20th year!!! Year one saw about 25 campers and counselors. Since then, Camp Bluedog has grown to over 140 campers and staff. Biggest Kid's Mountain Bike Camp in the country? That's what some say.
This year we are anticipating the biggest, most memorable camp yet.
Registration is NOT open yet, but will be in the next few weeks.

Looks like the trail ferries have arrived! We are making efforts to get the VFW Fat Bike Trail up and going and for now it is open! It takes a lot of effort, planning, orchestrating, physical labor and love from our volunteers who take time from their lives to make our lives much more "funner and awesomer". There are some common sense rules, so let's jump into some of the thingy things:

The VFW GROOMED TRAIL is for fat biking only.
Fat bikes are bicycles that have 4 inch wide tires or wider.
Vernon Trails and its crew of volunteers formed a relationship with the VFW board of directors over a decade ago to gain access to their beautiful private property for our community enjoyment. This is the only trail in the county that Vernon Trails is responsible for funding, building, and maintaining that puts restriction on other bicycles. There are over 20 miles of additional trail that VT has created or gained access to that allow all bicycles.
We simply ask that this 20 inch ribbon of trail is used by 4" wide tires or wider. No hiking, snow shoeing, skiing, dog walking or other size tires are permitted.
We also have a small group of volunteers who go and groom in the evening time after the sun sets and ask that people stay off the trail when they see the large orange cone and the sign at the entranced explaining this.

And the last ask/rule is that if the signs are up indicating the trail is closed due to conditions, please respect those signs and stay off. The trail is checked daily and will be opened accordingly.
Lastly, PLEASE GO INTO THE VIROQUA VFW LODGE and have a bite to eat and a drink to drink and don't forget to thank them for their incredible generosity in opening this amazing resource to us all.
