🖤 Who else loves a DARK bait? 🎣

Not every lure needs bright colors and flashy patterns to stand out!

Sometimes keeping things dark, simple, and clean makes just as much of a statement.

We’ve been playing around with some darker finishes here at Cross Timbers Bait Company, and I’ve got to say, I’m really liking how these are turning out!

Now we’re curious…

🎣 Are you a fan of dark-colored baits, or do you prefer something with a little more color?

Let’s hear it in the comments! 👇

🎨 5 Layers In… and Still Not Finished! 🎣

Some custom paint jobs are pretty straightforward, and then there are the ones that really make you work for that natural look!

We’re already 5 layers deep into this custom paint job, and there’s still plenty left to do.

It’s amazing how much goes into recreating certain patterns. Sometimes it’s not just about getting the colors right. It’s about building those colors in the right order, adding depth, and bringing out the little details that make a bait look like the real thing.

It’s a process, but that’s also one of my favorite parts of custom painting. Watching a plain blank slowly come to life!

Stay tuned. This one’s far from finished! 👀

🎣 LW’s Kids Corner – Built by Little Hands! 🎨

One thing we want everyone to know about LW’s Kids Corner here at Cross Timbers Bait Company is that when we say LW does his own lures, we mean it!

From picking his colors to putting the paint on and creating his own designs, LW does the work himself. Dad is there to offer a little guidance along the way and handle the final clear coat, but everything else is 100% LW! 💪

We could easily step in and do things for him, but that would take away the most important part of this whole experience — letting him learn, create, make mistakes, and take pride in something he made with his own two hands.

Every lure is a little piece of his imagination, and watching his excitement as his ideas come to life is worth more than anything.

He’s not just putting his name on a lure. He’s earning it, one bait at a time! ❤️🎣

Saturday morning in the Cross Timbers Bait Company shop! 🎣

This morning we’re working on getting some replacements painted up and ready to restock our inventory!

One thing about hand-painted baits, there’s always something that needs to be done! But that’s part of the fun. Taking a blank bait and bringing it to life never gets old!

A little paint, a little creativity, and another day doing what we love!
