General information
Sarcoma is a cancer of the connective tissue (i.e. bone, muscles, fat, nerves, and tendons). Though rare in adults, Sarcoma makes up about 15% of all childhood cancer! Unfortunately, treatment options for Sarcomas have hardly advanced over the last 20 years. For this reason, we are partnering with the Sarcoma Foundation of America, an organization dedicated to increased research to find new and better therapies to treat patients with Sarcoma.
The Sarcoma Foundation of America raises funds to privately fund grants for Sarcoma researchers and conducts educational and advocacy efforts on behalf of Sarcoma patients. Our mission has become even more urgent as we have recently lost two dear friends to Sarcoma. Ryan Brennan an 18 year old neighbor and Marc Lewis an amazing guy from Greenwich both passed away in the past 6 months. Ryan passed away in March, 2011 and Marc passed away in October, 2010. Alex was in treatment at MSKCC with both of them. They were unforgettable and we mourn there loss. There valiant efforts have inspired us to dedicate this years event in there honor. Dinner following golf event will be a celebration of their lives.
