At Fitness Ellipsis, we help retirees keep up with their adventures.

It’s Not Always About Eating Less.

One of my clients recently lost weight after we increased her calorie intake.

How is that possible?

Because lasting results aren’t just about eating fewer calories. They’re about giving your body what it needs while building habits that support a healthy metabolism.

Instead of simply cutting food, we focused on eating better and building consistent habits that support long term health.

Over the past few months, she lost 7 pounds, reduced 1.5 inches from her waist, became noticeably stronger, improved her balance and movement quality, and even eliminated the abdominal cramping she used to experience during everyday activities.

Many people assume weight loss means eating as little as possible. In reality, eating too little can make it harder to maintain muscle, recover from exercise, and build habits you can sustain.

When you consistently fuel your body well and stay active, your body often becomes more efficient at using that fuel.

The goal isn’t to eat less forever. The goal is to build a body that is stronger, healthier, and more resilient.

If you’re over 50 and tired of feeling like you need to starve yourself to see progress, there may be a better approach.

Most retirees don’t stop having adventures.

The challenge is making sure your body can keep up with them.

As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass and strength. Research suggests that getting enough protein can help support muscle health, strength, mobility, and independence as the years go by.

Whether your next adventure is hiking a national park, exploring a new city, chasing grandkids around the backyard, or playing 18 holes with friends, strength matters.

At Fitness Ellipsis, we help retirees build the strength, balance, and confidence to keep saying “yes” to the experiences they love.

Because retirement isn’t about slowing down.

It’s about keeping up with your adventures.

Another awesome client.

One of the things I enjoy most about coaching is helping people build confidence in the gym and create habits that support their goals long-term.

Grateful for the opportunity to be part of the journey. 💪

This is the kind of progress that matters.
This client improved knee extension by approximately 25–30°, leading to smoother, more comfortable movement in everyday activities and less strain on the joints.

Working out isn’t the same as following a plan.

Strength training gives your body a reason to change.

More strength. Better movement. Real progress you can feel.

And sometimes, weight loss comes with it.

In this case, 15 lbs over 16 weeks.

Not by chasing it. By training the right way.

Appreciate you sharing this,

Not all tofu is created equal.

Tofu is a great plant based protein, but check the label before you buy.

These 3 tofu options look similar, but the protein varies a lot:
14g • 9g • 4g per serving.

A quick label check helps you get the protein you’re actually aiming for.

Welcome Trish. Grateful to be part of the next chapter of her journey. Let’s get to work.

Early morning solution for busy days.

16 oz mason jar
Rolled oats
Protein powder
Hazelnuts

Add water. Shake. Done.

It takes about 60 seconds to make the night before, and in the morning it is simply grab and go. No cooking, no excuses, no stopping for junk food on the way to work.

You get quality carbs for energy, protein to support muscle, and healthy fats that support hormone production and overall body function. Simple nutrition that keeps you on track even when life is busy.

Congrats to Sarah! Since training consistently, she’s been able to cut her blood pressure medication in half.

This is such a powerful reminder that progress isn’t only about the scale or how we look in the mirror, it’s also about the internal wins that improve long-term health and quality of life.
