This drill is about building athleticism, balance, and coordination with a partner. These fancy kicks aren’t what we’re teaching you to rely on for self-defense. They’re a fun way to challenge how you move.

This drill is all about reaction speed. No verbal cues from the instructor. Students watch which pad is presented and react with the appropriate strike.

Parents, “we’ll find each other” isn’t much of a plan.

For this drill, students closed their eyes while their partners moved to another room. Then they had to find them while everyone else was doing the same thing.

The point was to show how chaotic it can be to find one person in a moving crowd. Now imagine adding panic to that situation.

That’s why, in the previous video, I talked about agreeing on a meetup spot with my wife when we go out.

Have that conversation with your teens beforehand. Decide where you’ll meet if you get separated. You want to be following a plan you’ve already discussed, not trying to create one in the middle of chaos.
