I had a college bound senior get emotional today as we put a wrap on summer with one last get together. We hugged and he said, "you were the first coaches that ever believed in me". He was cut as a freshman in H.S, then a first team all league player as a senior. The relationships built, and journey as a whole is what it's all about. After I dried my own tears I let him know that every player deserves this faith from coaches. We also talked about the foundation which allowed him to progress through the years. It was his ability to take the coaching combined with his level of compete. This young man competed through every loss, every slump, every season. His compete never waivered! He won some tournaments, and lost some tough ones, but the compete was there every single day. You are the man, Matt Rowland! That compete will serve you for years to come in ways you can't imagine.

Huge congrats to our 23's! It's not easy to find a good fit between ball player and college/university. A lot goes into it: finances, grades, skill, area of study, proximity to home, etc..
It takes years of focused work and discipline to be in this position. 6 percent of high school baseball players move on to play in college. Proud of you guys! Have a great H.S season and let's get ready for success at the next level!
