That's right — the Thunderbirds very own Hughes Brothers are sitting top three All-Georgia First Team. And let's not forget our goalie, Blake Gibeau #29, for making All-Georgia Second Team. Congratulations, you three! 👏

Congratulations to the Thunderbirds very own Mario Hughes #66 for being named Georgia Tier 3 MVP of the 2025 season! This is an award well-deserved! 👏

Mentally, we’re here. 💜

June and July gave us memories to last a lifetime — goals, saves, the team’s first penalty shot, fist bumps, and family moments at the rink. These are the moments cameras were made for, and thanks to Melanie Hughes Photography, we get to relive them again and again.

Today, on we’re especially grateful for the way photos capture not just plays on the rink, but the spirit, family, and history of our very first NBHL season.

In our debut NBHL Georgia season, the International City Thunderbirds stormed onto the rink for the very first time. No prior competitive ball hockey experience. No reputation. Just grit, hustle, and heart.

💜 History made — FIRST overtime playoff game in Georgia NBHL history!

Our playoff battle against the Appalachian Wampus Cats was one for the books — an overtime thriller that ended in a 2-3 heartbreaker. We left it all out there. Every shift. Every shot. Every second.

👏 Hats off to the Atlanta Dirty Birds — now off to New Jersey to represent Georgia in the National Championship. Go make the Peach State proud!

The International City Thunderbirds left it all on the rink in their first ever NBHL Georgia Tier 3 playoff match-up against the Appalachian Wampus Cats. After a gritty, back-and-forth battle that pushed the game into overtime, the Thunderbirds fell just short with a 2-3 defeat.
