On May 9th, the Warren Powerlifting Club competed in their first ever competition at the Metal Militia 3.0 Weightlifting Competition in Youngstown. This was a HUGE accomplishment for our weightlifters as Coach Bartos created this group earlier in the year.

The team is comprised of some of our toughest (mentally and physically) WGH Students - many of which do not play a traditional sport. The grit, determination, and intensity they showed this year was incredible and it can be seen through these photos. They worked all year for this competition; showing up to the SRWC 4-5 days per week to lift with Coach Bartos.

Yesterday we held the First Annual Middle School Olympics in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Middle School students competed in a number of events, earning points for their school. Events included:

The students demonstrated an excellent display of friendly competition and sportsmanship. The SRWC was full of cheers by classmates for every event!

Last week Akron Children's Hospital partnered with us for the 2nd Annual Pre-Prom Event created by our student Youth Advisory Council. All students at WGH were able to attend resource tables that included bike/gun safety, mental health, addiction services (va**ng and ma*****na), distracted driving simulations, blood pressure screenings. We also had face painting, KONA ice, inflatable slide, digital photo booth, DJ Eric Ensley, tug of war, and so much more! A huge THANK YOU to our community partners:

The final phase of the Mollenkopf Stadium Construction project is well underway! Take a look at renderings of the East Stands which will include new concessions, restrooms, locker rooms, wheelchair access, and baseball/softball facilities. The project will be ready for our fall sports season. We are proud to partner with DeSalvo Construction and Phillips Sekanick Architects.
