Another dream come true!

Those who know me know how much I LOVE the One Chicago shows. In 2023 I got to be in Chicago Med (821) and this year Chicago P.D.! Chicago Fire 🔥 YOU’RE NEXT!😉🙏❤️‍🔥

My character, Candice, didn’t have any lines, but I treated the role as if she did, lots of internal emotions. The storyline was truly heart-wrenching and working in TV is such a different pace from theatre that it require us to be ready to go the moment the camera rolls. It was so fun! ❤️🎬

A huge THANK YOU to the entire Team, director Takashi Doscher, the other queens that shared the screen with me, the casting team, Jonathan Strauss and Rikki Gimelstob.
A special thanks and shoutout to my friend Erick Juarez for coaching me and helping me with my self tape and to Todd, Casie & Jenny, my agents at Stewart Talent Chicago, for moving all the pieces to make this possible. So grateful 🙏

With this episode, I also say hello to SAG-AFTRA, my Union for TV/Film 🎉🎬

📸 Got to work and meet Jason Beghe. I’ve been a fan of his since the show first started, so I had to pinch myself a couple of times and say “Yeah, girl, it’s happening! You’re living what you once dreamed of”.

📺 Chicago P.D. 14003 - “Under the surface” streaming now on Peacock

📸 Happy crying and listening to my jam from Juan Luis Guerra as I drive into Cinespace Studios

📸 Make up and hair done! 💄

📸 Walking to set, let’s go!

📸 Documenting the moment, thought it was a photo 😂. ➡️ Next slide

📸 with these beautiful ladies- Landrea Murray, Neketia Henry, Suki Sullivan & Jason Beghe who was very kind to us.

Too much excitement and beautiful memories were created, so I just took it all in and didn’t make much time to share here. But then I remembered the friends and loved ones who are near but couldn’t be there in person, and those who are far away and long to know more, so here you go! 💕

Two weeks ago, the OYF! fam got to be reunited one last time. We sang, laughed, cried (that night and the days to follow), did our impromptu conga line, and took some awards home. I shared the speech the day after, but since I couldn’t take pictures with my phone, I’m sharing some here that were taken by the other members of this beautiful family.

9.22.26

Today, I celebrate the woman I am, the woman I’ve become, and the woman I strive to be.

The losses I’ve experienced over the last year have made me even more aware of how brief our time here really is. That’s why I want to laugh more, love harder, enjoy the little (and not-so-little) moments, I want to continue drinking the cafecito even past 10 p.m., calling my BFF at some ridiculous hour of the day just to share something silly, cherishing the one-minute calls with my nieces, nephews, and godkids, saying “I love you” more often, and giving more hugs.

Because when my time comes, I want my loved ones to be able to say, “She enjoyed the heck out of that life.”

And because, like Mae West said, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

So, cheers to another trip around the sun! 🎂🥂✨ The last day of and the first day of fall season baby, my two favorites. 😉❤️♍️🍂

Waking up everyday IS a reason to celebrate. 🎉 so I’m still accepting that coffee invite. ☕️ And if you have a crush on me… well, this is your time to declare your love. I’m accepting applications. 😂❤️

About the Jeff Awards 🙏🏼❤️🏆

Here goes the speech with comments and thoughts haha. That was spontaneous Claudia, because I didn’t write anything 🫣🤣 so now it took me like 45min to transcribe it, I dont trust the automated transcript lol, here’s what I said:

Azucaaaaaaa! {Very few heard it, people were clapping and cheering 🥹}
Oye, I have 1 minute only so stay quiet
{laughs}
Last year I was nominated for a show I did at Definition and I wore a very expensive skirt and I never won and I took the tag off so I couldn’t reuse it, I could return it (return it was what I meant to say)
This year, this is my best friend’s mom’s suit ‘cause I’m like, I might win but there’s a lot of amazing people there (nominated with me) so whatever.
Now, I don’t have a speech.
I lost my phone (nothing to do with the speech, two different thoughts 😂) so if someone sees my phone somewhere on the stairs {pointing to house right} is mine and (new thought 🫣) I haven’t had any alcohol but now I will {audience laughs}.
When I did the show someone goes like: “Where have you been?” And I wanna say “I’ve been here” {audience cheers} “I’ve been in Chicago” {audience still cheering} “Yes” {affirming to those surprised} “I’ve been acting in Chicago for more than 10 years and where have YOU been?” {Audience lost it 🤣} Get out of the burbs, get out of the North, get out of the West, go see other theatres that you usually might not go (to 🤣)because you might experience something different, you might meet new people. I wanna announce(share might’ve been a better word 🤣) that the cast WAS FROM Chicago except 4 actors that came from New York, except to what it said on the paper, we were all Chicago talent (for reference a newspaper mentioned that the majority was non local talent). I wanna thank my cast, Drury Lane, Luis Salgado mi director, my entire crew and everyone involved in the show. ¡Que siga la tradición! {Jumping of excitment and of “what the heck just happened?”}

Thank you all for the beautiful words in person at the Jeffs, the DMs, messages & calls.

I’ll keep sharing other posts!

Thank you & m
