We would like to welcome Kevin Reyes to the Explotec family. Kevin is a safety at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia.

It is a week for fundamentals and mechanics. Pedaling, pedaling, and more pedaling was a big theme. We also work on foot mechanics for in game situations. Walking through footwork drills is important because it allows players to feel what proper foot mechanics look like. They can then practice these mechanics at 60%, 80%, and game speed. Pay attention to key points of emphasis in the video.

DB’s have to be able to change direction and transition in and out of breaks as quickly and efficiently as possible. To do this they must have low pad level, break on their whole foot, and keep their feet within their center of gravity

Training highlights with and . The first clip shows some press work with Langston. Notice how he maintains consistent low pad level so he can transition smoothly in any direction. He uses his feet to keep him in good position, followed by a strong clean jam. The second and third clip show Langston and Brayden practicing a drill to improve their ball skills while in phase down field. Emphasis is on being in phase (not trailing or in front of wr), tracking the ball with their eyes, adjusting their bodies, going up to attack the football at its highest point, or adjusting and extending out for back shoulder passes.
