Dissent is hosting our annual women’s-matching hat tourney on March 19 to engage with the women's-matching ultimate community and to raise some funds for the coming season!

Who are we? Dissent is newer to the women’s-matching scene. Last season (2022) was our team's inaugural season and we're excited for another fun year :)

Who is this tournament for? Any woman-matching player, including non-binary players, gender non-conforming players, and anyone who feels that the USAU women's matching division is for them! You have the option to baggage with one person as long as they baggage you back. You will find out which team you're on upon check-in. Format will be determined closer to tournament date.

This year's theme is Childhood Field Day! We're leaning into our inner child and adding some iconic field day activities in between games.

Dissent is looking for a coach for the 2023 season!

We are starting our second season as a classic flight team in the women’s division in the DC area. We’re very excited to grow on our progress from last year, and we’re in search of someone (or multiple someones 👀) who can help us get there!

Our ideal coach is someone who can be a part of the tryout process, run practices, and attend tournaments.

Bryn (he/him) started playing ultimate in 2012 in the UK and most recently played for Espionage in DC in 2021. He loves Ultimates’ positive vibes and sense of community.

Fun fact: My favorite spirit game is mini tanks!

Fav escalator: The NoMa one because then it means I'm home 🧀

Ada (she/her) started playing frisbee in 2014 at Mount Holyoke College (excited to play with 2 of my former teammates this summer!), and has done a smattering of pickup/leagues since graduating in 2018 (including Rage Up with Kelly in 2021!)

Fun fact: I have been to nationals for both frisbee in college, and documentary-making in middle school!

Fav escalator: Rosslyn, for the pure adrenaline rush of running up it (it's huge) to make my bus in the summer of 2017.

About: Justine (she/her) started playing frisbee in her freshman year at Dickinson College. Since graduating she has played in WAFC leagues, local pick up groups, and in 2021 on District Cocktails.

Fun fact: In college, my team won a bronze hoe for getting third place in a frisbee tournament.

Fav escalator: Dupont Circle, every time I ride it I feel like I'm in an apocalyptic movie and we are being sent to live underground forever.

Tryouts have officially started! Time for some captain intros - first up, Kelso!

Kelly (she/her) started playing frisbee with Grand Rapids Ultimate fall league in 2018 and then did a women's matching league in Grand Rapids before moving to DC in 2020. In DC, she played with Rage Up for 2021!

Fun fact - I will make a new playlist for every tourney this year. Hmu

Favorite escalator - Fort Totten, the one with the green and yellow railings

TRYOUT UPDATE: We are moving our first tryout to 6-9pm (same date, same location), so everyone can go support DC Shadow Ultimate in their game against Medellin Revolution at 4pm! (tickets available here: https://www.dcshadowultimate.com/tickets)
