The 2026 season is officially underway! 🚴‍♂️💨

We kicked things off with the first race of the MABRA season, and it felt incredible to be back in the mix. A huge thank you to for the sponsorship and for hosting such a fantastic race.

The legs are feeling sharp and the weather was perfect for shaking off the winter rust. There’s no better way to start the year than with a fast training race series to build the engine for the road season ahead.

Today was an emotional day.  First cx race without our dear friend roaming the premises on a single-speed mtb, wearing his Shenandoah Mountain Touring jersey, long gray hair flying out from under his helmet.  The tributes were moving: Abe got the first spot call up in the 50's, we observed a minute of silence before anyone started racing in the 1:25 time slot, Eddie graciously gave up his top spot on the podium to our man down. I always say I hate everything about bike racing except the bike racing.

Camp ✅ Race season prep complete! 💪 DC Velo is locked and loaded after an epic weekend. Building fitness, refining tactics, and solidifying the team bond. Get ready to see us fly! 🚀

What a night at the DCVelo banquet! 🤩 We celebrated all the hard work and triumphs of our racers this past weekend. A huge congrats to Coach Aziz on his well-deserved lifetime achievement award for his dedication to junior cycling development at ! Inspiring stuff. ✨

In 1993, ten friends came together in the living room of one of the founding members, Matt Galvez, and laid the foundation for the team that we have today. This year marks our 30th year anniversary. Earlier in April we had our yearly banquet at HRC where we celebrated this milestone and 8 of our senior members were inducted to our Hall of Fame because of their contribution and dedication to the team over the past three decades.
