commune located in the District of Columbia. We are devoted to the ideals of income and labor equity, non-discrimination, sustainability,
community engagement, communication, and personal growth.

Comperxia, DC's only income-sharing intentional community (that we know of), is looking for a rad and considerate individual to share our space with!

THE ROOM: Our open room is the master bedroom, with its own bathroom, very high ceilings, ceiling fan, and lots of natural light. The room is relatively unfurnished, $1100/month (including utilities), and available immediately. Photos available.

THE HOUSE: Lovely row house in the Brightwood neighborhood with an open ground floor plan, gas stove, and washer and dryer. Front porch and back deck. Skylight on the second floor, where the room is, for lots of natural light. We’re near a park, two community gardens, and a recreation center.

YOU: We'd like to share our space with an inspiring member of our wider community who is doing good work and is interested in being in community with us by sharing space, and maybe food! We are especially interested in having someone in the room who is curious about income sharing and could see themselves as a possible income sharing-member of the community in the future. Otherwise, a rad someone excited to hang out and share a bit of their life with us is great too!

US: Two of the current adult occupants of our house are euro-descended, and one is african-descended. We also live with a (very cool) 7-year-old. We are deeply interested in disrupting whiteness, racism, and sexism within our community, and are particularly interested in renters and members who help accomplish that. We are willing to reexamine and readjust the systems and culture we have in place here to make our community more accessible and liberatory to all.

Compersia is dead! Long Live Compersia!

Today, Friday, at 2pm, we are going to have a little letting go ceremony at the old house. Exact format to be determined. Prob some sage, and some hammock swinging. Maybe we'll sing the Grief and Praise song!

Do y'all want to dance with us at the funk parade today?
Peaches and Courtney are planning to go down now. Then 5-6pm is the parade. Courtney is excited but is a possible presence at the parade. Peaches and Telos are interested in the parade. One possibility is holding up our flag banner between two poles on a sidewalk cheering the parade and/or marching if we are invited. Let us know or just come dance!
