Me thinking deep thoughts about strengthening the anterior fibers of the glute medius.
The occasion was another excellent Somatraining course teaching Guy Voyer's exercise methodologies . Many thanks to outstanding instructor Scott Herrera .

This man doing the L3-L4 ELDOA is a living legend in the Judo world. He is Jim Bregman, a 10th Dan Judoka who won the Bronze medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and the Bronze medal at the 1965 World Championships.
Now 77, he came to see me because after his long athletic career he had significant spinal disc compression. In fact, he said he essentially had no intervertebral discs left and that the x-rays showed vertebra sitting on top of vertebra. Needless to say, he had terrible lower back pain despite trying many other methods.
I taught him each of the lumbar ELDOAs from L1-L2 to L5-S1 and a week later he reported that his pain had reduced by about 50%. I saw him two more times over the next two months to refine his technique as he diligently practiced at home on a daily basis. Amazingly, his pain was so much reduced that he no longer needed to see me. Truly an incredible result that speaks to the power of ELDOA.

That's me trying to force a smile while doing the T7-T8 ELDOA because I looked so grim in the earlier photos. Those of you who have done this one understand the grim part. Those of you who haven't, trust me, this is much harder than it looks. Try this while keeping your spine perfectly straight and you'll see what I mean.
This targets the thoracic spine toward the bottom of the shoulder blades.

I posted recently about the damage that young people are doing to their spines due to excessive forward head posture. Now this unbelievable story shows up in the Washington Post. Young people are developing large bone spurs at the base of their skills because of "text neck." I have heard Guy Voyer say many times that friction on the bone causes a build up of more bone, a major cause of osteoarthritis, but this is next level. Once people realize the power of ELDOA to normalize posture and improve spine health, it's really going to explode.

Me preparing for the practical portion of the ELDOA exam, working on finding the glenohumeral angle with the talented ELDOA Stacey Stone Eldoa Asheville. Stacey is not only a newly certified ELDOA trainer, but also a personal trainer, yoga teacher, and CHEK Practitioner. If that wasn't enough, she splits her time between St. Croix in the Caribbean and beautiful Ashville NC, which is proof that she is a lot smarter than I am about lifestyle design.
