So excited for Head Coach to be named to the 2026 U19 Coaching Staff! A local DMV coach along the Occoquan and the Potomac, Coach Carol has developed athletes at the junior level in both sweep and, more recently, sculling with success at Canadian Henley, Rowfest, HOCR and beyond. Congratulations, Carol!
In Ukrainian culture, the swallow (lastivka) is a deeply revered symbol of spring, rebirth, happiness, and good news. As a harbinger of warmer, brighter days, it signifies the end of winter, fostering hope and renewal. Swallows are also cherished as symbols of family, loyalty, and protection, believed to bring prosperity to homes where they nest.
Potomac Scullers named their new single, Lastivka, an homage to former PBC Coach Vlad Pavlovskyi who dedicated himself for 3 years to raising the level of training for Open and Masters competitive scullers on the Potomac Scullers team. A symbol of spring, raced Lastivka at Rivanna Scrimmages in her inaugural regatta.
