Due to the expected severe thunderstorms moving through the Washington, DC region this afternoon and evening, Rock Creek Tennis Center will close at 1:00 PM today.
All after-school junior programs and adult tennis programs scheduled for this evening have been canceled for the safety of our players and staff.

Tennis Bubble Structure Update – Rock Creek Tennis Center

As part of preparations for the upcoming Citi Open Tennis Tournament, the tennis bubble structure at Rock Creek Tennis Center was successfully deflated and taken down early yesterday morning by a crew of approximately 25–30 workers.

The crew will return early morning today to remove the anchor system and complete the remaining dismantling process.

We anticipate that the courts previously covered by the bubble will be ready for outdoor play by Sunday or Monday, weather and conditions permitting.

Updates on Tennis Bubble Construction!
We now anticipate that the construction will be completed and the bubble will be ready for use on Monday, October 14,2024.

Important Notice:

ROCK CREEK TENNIS CENTER TEMPORARY CLOSURE DUE TO THE 2024MUBADALA CITI OPEN TENNIS TOURNMENT.
July 8, 2024, to August 18, 2024, the site will be closed to the public.
The temporary closure is required to load in of materials and equipment in support of the event, from July 8, 2024, to July 26, 2024, the site will be closed to the public to protect public safety during the operation of heavy trucks, lifts, and other heavy equipment. Similarly, the site will be closed August 5 through August 18, 2024, for the load out of this equipment. The site will only be open to employees and contractors of the Special Event Permittee, under the supervision of NPS Incident Management Team, during these dates.
The event will be opened to ticketed spectators July 27, 2024, through August 4, 2024. The primary entrance gates for ticket holders attending will be at the north end entrance to the tennis complex parking lot.
