Last week, NeighborWorks® America was honored with a visit from Sharon Hildebrand, Chief/Chair of the Tanana Chiefs Conference, and Chief Lori Baker from the Village of Minto. The delegation was visiting Washington, D.C. The organization provides a unified voice for Interior Alaska Native people.

Community-based lending is creating pathways to economic mobility for entrepreneurs historically excluded from traditional financing.

A new story from NeighborWorks America highlights how Renaissance Economic Development Corporation expanded responsible lending and support through the Sustainable Business Initiative. The effort helped reach more than 300 entrepreneurs and distribute approximately $2.8 million in loans in just one year.

This work demonstrates how strategic investment, culturally competent support and flexible capital can strengthen local economies and expand opportunity.
