I think a solid knowledge of what works for your digestive health is really crucial to weight loss, feeling better, and getting healthier. It’s all connected, from nutrient absorption, to your mood, and balancing good bacteria, metabolism, gastrointestinal health, managing GERD and so much more. I was talking to a few client’s about diet.
Worst foods for digestive health, GERD
1 .Processed foods. (My client said I’m trying to enjoy my life. Some of that stuff just delicious) I love your honesty. You know who you are. 😝
2 Dairy. ... (Anonymous: but Greek Yogurt is good probiotic, this is garbage. geez it’s just like you can’t ever get it right. Moderation is where I’m at. “I love me some cheese.”
3 Alcohol. (Liver, heart, kidneys... (Anonymous: “Jesus drank wine” but really I won’t be the first person battling borderline alcoholism, finding ways to laugh about its my life’s !!! Exhaling”. One day at a time. Soberiety” EDFtrainer: “I battle temptations just like you.”Wine, beers, bourbon and cigs 🥃 I’ve had my fair share. One day at a time. It’s a Judgement free zone.
4 Artificial Sweeteners. ...
5 Carb-Dense Foods. ...
6 Excessive Raw Vegetables. (So many people’s response: What?!?? First they say eat veggies now you’re saying no? EDFtrainer: No, that’s not what I’m saying. For many people, raw foods can be difficult to digest, we know fiber is good, it’s healthy, but FODMAPs and its impact on your gut depending on how sensitive your gut is from existing digestive problems. Some vegetables contain FODMAPs, which are carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed by the small intestine.
Low FODMAP vegetables Carrots, A nutritious staple that can be eaten raw or cooked, Cucumbers�A FODMAP-free food that's also low in calories and fat, Kale A 1 cup serving of chopped kale is low in FODMAPs, Tomatoes Low in FODMAPs when eaten in small portions(For me being a Nigerian I have a hard time eating moderate or little amounts, stews and fufu, it’s in so many dishes. & for those pasta Italian pizza lovers it’s here and there. I get it.), Also Eggplant, Low in FODMAPs when cooked, as cooking breaks down oligosaccharides. �White potatoes A ½ cup serving contains a small amount of fructose which sometimes too much can be the issue. (But don’t forget potassiums in potatoes.) Context here is more specifically in regard to Gut health, knowing and learning more about your existing gut health or issues. If you have gut health issues, like diminished enzyme production, digesting raw vegetables can be especially difficult. �(sometimes you just need to learn more about where you are, the current state of digestive systems rather than joining the what’s trending rant, we know we’ve heard of course raw foods are great and healthy, generally speaking.)�

I said it 3 times. �Eating a large volume of raw vegetables, like a salad, can increase the amount of gas and bloating. �not exactly, moderations is key.
7 Acidic Fruit. ... Low-acid fruits include bananas, melons, coconuts, and berries. These fruits can help with acid reflux and GERD symptoms.
8 Caffeine.
Fermented vegetables You can also try eating fermented vegetables, like sauerkraut or kimchi, to help rebuild your gut microbiome.
