Today, as we commemorate Independence Day in the United States, the Organization of Zambians Abroad (OZA) joins millions of Americans in celebrating the enduring values of freedom, democracy, opportunity, and unity.
The Fourth of July is more than a celebration of America's independence—it is a moment to honor the generations of men and women whose courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment secured the freedoms and constitutional rights that continue to define this great nation. We remember those who gave their lives in defense of liberty and express our deepest gratitude to all who have served to preserve these ideals.
America's greatest strength has always been its people. As a nation built by individuals from every corner of the world, the United States stands as a remarkable melting pot of cultures, traditions, and ideas. This diversity has fueled innovation, strengthened communities, and enriched the American story.
The Zambian-American community is proud to be part of that story. Across the country, Zambians are contributing as healthcare professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, engineers, public servants, students, members of the armed forces, and community leaders. Through our work, our families, and our commitment to service, we strive to strengthen the communities we call home while maintaining the rich cultural heritage that connects us to Zambia.
