This is good news!!! Glad to see the WIAA make adjustments to allow local districts and health departments decide what is best for their athletes. We support education based athletics and believe that it’s important for students to represent their schools.
BREAKING: WIAA has approved a plan that maintains current fall sports options but also provides option for schools to move fall sports to spring. All schools will see their season dates & state tourney dates (but not # of games) adjusted for winter & spring sports. More to come...

"High school sports should be offered by schools as a crucial and necessary intervention to help kids stay safe and healthy during and after the COVID-19 pandemic." Slides from the WIAA meeting - Dr. Tim McGuine of the WIAA Sports Advisory Committee makes a clear case for a return to sports. We need our school districts to listen to the medical professionals!

WIAA study on the rise of mental health issues related to sports cancellations. This is why the GMC and other conferences must provide sports (with precautions) this fall.
