Great last week of my Indoor Junior clinic! It was a great time, and I learned a lot. I was able to get quite creative with some games and activities. We even tried Red light, Green light, Swing! !

We've all been there.

Great Saturday class coaching for our middle school golf teams. I was able to give a discussion on proper set-up with an iron vs. a driver.

We then played a game in the chipping area, and the students did something that completely surprised me, and it showcased why allowing students to play and explore on their own is a great idea.

I had three rings set up around pins, and I simply wanted them to practice distance control on chip shots. So they were awarded one point per ball in the circle and two points for getting the ball in the hole. I gave the task of the students to move the rings after each round and swap clubs.

When I returned the students created some crazy concentric circles(see img 2.), and they made it so the points from each ring could stack, and they could get three points for getting it in the center because the ball would be in "all the rings."

I'm quite creative, but this is something I wouldn't have thought to do because I was so focused on "distance control" and not "fun.".

Teaching is a privilege, and I am happy to say that each day I get to teach, I learn something new.

Indoor JR Golf Winter Clinic Week three at . This indoor clinic has been quite a challenge , as I've never done something at this time with students of this age.

I was a bit too focused on correct vs. activity the first two weeks. The students just got out of school, were in a game, and wanted to play!

I swapped the format to ADM activity, Golf Skill, ADM Activity, Golf Skill, ADM Activity, and then Golf game.

This rapid fire progression might not facilitate the best transfer of skills for the students, but they listened, engaged, and seemed to have a lot of fun this week!

Funny story, I made up some total random game called "roll the ball," essentially just typing to stop the ball in a target, and it was an absolute hit! I seriously thought it was going to be boring for them, but they were engaged, and we even did the game with a putter after.
